Harsch crock, would you return this due to damage?
Comments (7)Actually the lid had a shipping fee of almost $20, but they picked up the tab. But, my boyfriend asked why I bothered buying another lid, since the one I have is only cosmetically damaged, and Amazon credited my credit card $78. I thought about it and he was right, did I really need a new lid, so I cancelled the order for the lid, and will probably purchase another crock :) I might try another brand besides Harsch. There is a store about an hour away that carries a Polish made one, next time I'm up in that area, I might pick up another 10 liter so I can do pickles and kraut at the same time. It's $129....See MoreWolf oven dilemma - What would you do?
Comments (12)Thanks for all the advise. Our current oven is a 6 year old Whirlpool (came with the house). The electronic display is out and there are two circuit boards that need to be replaced. From what I read on line, this looks to be a common and reoccurring issue with this model. I don't love this oven but don't hate it either but not sure it's really worth repairing. I'm going to call Wolf directly today and tell them about my experience. The reason I find it hard to believe that it was an honest mistake is because he made a big deal about not paying attention to the MSRP on the print out, specially writing another lower price, crossing it out and writing and even lower price. I've seen this sales tactic used in other high pressure sales situations with timeshares and car dealerships. If Wolf really doesn't allow a dealer to discount an oven, what was with the writing down a price and crossing it out and writing a lower price in the first place? Why would he tell us to disregard the MSRP on the print out? It just doesn't make sense to me. This was an older man who said he's been selling appliances for years. You'd think he would notice being off by almost $1k. We were looking at the most expensive oven in his store and he said they sell a lot of them, so you'd think he'd be familiar enough with the price to know he was off by so much. Depending on what Wolf says, I'll either find another dealer, even if I have to pay a higher price, or I'll start looking into Elux. I think Elux wasn't on our list of possible ovens because my husband had read some where that they had similar control board issues as our current oven. Perhaps he was mistaken or it was just an isolated issue. Thanks for the recommendation! -juliew...See MoreMy Wolf range keeps beeping!!
Comments (14)Got my Wolf in 2010, and last night started beeping. Never had problem before. Last night, by hitting clock button it stopped, but the button seemed to stick (clock kept advancing). Came down this morning and decided to check it and set clock. Started beeping and this time couldn't get it to stop. Also, the oven light wouldn't come on. Shut off the breaker just to stop the beeping, then got on google to see if there was a solution. Saw this and so turned breaker back on. Voila, it woked and all back to normal. Comments (96)Stainless steel scrubbies and dish soap. I was afraid to use them for fear of ruining the shiny finish. ButDishwasher the Glass enamel is impervious to scratching from the SST scrubbie. I have never managed to scratch it, but not for lack of leaning into it and scrubbing hard. Take 'em over to the sink. Lay a tea towel down and go to town on them. Toss the cast iron grates in the Dish washer. I was afraid they'd rust but they don't. Be careful handling them, they Break; the castings are real garbage. I broke my first set & had to replace 'em....See More- 11 years ago
