Tweak my layout, pretty please! My deadline is HERE!

I'm posting an awful lot the last few days, I know.

Am in decision-making mode and up against it as I now want to change things significantly and my contractor and electrician show up TOMORROW to START WORK!

Small galley kitchen, interior 1940's row home. Southern windows. Open to dining room with a peninsula dividing kitchen and dining space.

Measurements:

NS 179" with the limitation of a basement door on the North side of the West wall of kitchen, 36" wall on the East wall of the kitchen (shared with dining room and the origin of the peninsula).

WE outermost kitchen wall to outermost dining room wall = 217"

Frig will be recessed in to the North wall.

IKEA cabs, Scherr's fronts. Induction cooktop.

Until two days ago, plan was no uppers, no hood, cooktop on peninsula.

I'm convinced now cooktop on peninsula and no hood both are bad ideas - great, informative feedback from several generous folks on this site.

So, you will find a link to the Original plans at the end of this post.

I am considering revising the West Wall appliance side as follows:

5" filler piece by the window where the window drops below counter height

24" drawer

30" induction Cooktop with oven below

24" Dishwasher

30" Sink

15" Recycle / trash pull

15" set of drawers.

I think I'd like having uppers for the storage space. Really wanted it to be open though because I don't want to feel closed in and dark. And I don't like the up/down/up/down look that results when the uppers are different heights necessitated by presence of sink and cooktop.

There will not be any pantry/cabinetry around the frig.

Grateful I am using IKEA; it's so easy to go and pick up / change the cabs!

So, I come now to you with an urgent plea: Can any of you fix this plan?????

Pertinent style info: I'm only adult in house. One little kiddo. Dog. Frequently shared meals with other families, neighbors and house guests. Lots of from-scratch and well loved food, but not gourmet!

And the hood -- where does the hood go!!?? Looking at the ones Costco has.

Any ideas for microwave location?

My fingers are tightly crossed!

I send you many thanks in advance!
