I remember a post from a few years ago about LL butcherblock being full of internal voids when it was cut. Their flooring is so questionable that I wouldn't expect much better from their BB. If you have an industrial supply anywhere near, they often have shop worktops that are inexpensive and rustic looking, but still good quality. I've used McMaster Carr before. If you want the BB to be one piece when done, alternating grain will be difficult to join together without eventual cracks. It can be done, though, but difficult. You CAN get BB in 12 foot lengths, but it would be known as truck bed, and truck bed (besides being available only in oak) is all about flexible strength and not looks. I've tried to make furniture grade tables out of it and it's not a material that looks good without a lot of work and luck. It eats up Plastic Wood like a dog with a bowl of gravy. If you are ever in the vicinity of Lititz Pennsylvania, the Sensenich wooden propeller people make enormous amounts of inch and three quarter butcher board and they can (theoretically) make a top infinitely long. A competent carpenter could make you a 12 foot maple top from scratch, using ripped and planed slats, good glue, and about three good pipe/bar clamps per foot. One could do it in half a day's prep, two hours of buildup, two days of clamped drying, and a day of finishing. Other than the clamps it is not a hand tool product so tool investment and raw sweat would make it expensive.

Do you know who makes those cabinets? Info on the pic says they were custom made. But you can use this picture as an inspiration picture. Start looking through your yellow pages for custom cabinet makers. Also ask friends where they got their cabinets. If you are looking at big box stores, I would say Kraft Maid from Lowe's would be a good choice. However, price out custom, there are many on here who got custom for the same price or less as big box. And do you live near an Amish area? Some on here have gotten great custom Amish cabs at great prices. Again, ask around. And if you do a search on here, lots of very happy Ikea cabinet owners. It shouldn't be hard to find what you are looking for. Also, where would I find solid surface counter tops? Lowe's sell's LG Hi-Mac and Home Depot sells Corian around here. There are other brands as well. (Joseph Corlett could list them all, I don't know them all, as I am focused on Corian myself) Again, try looking at kitchen and flooring shops in your area. You can also go to the website of any brand and they should have a dealer locater. Now Joseph will say they are all the same. Maybe they are, but all I can say is, in researching (an insane amount) LG Hi-Mac "seems" to have an awful lot of cracking issues. Corian use only their trained fabricators so maybe that's why there are less issues. Thank you so much for the great suggestion and for the photos. In pictures, the walnut looks like a cool brown while the floor tends toward yellow or golden tones. But this is all on screens. You need samples! Since you already have several different materials going on, I would think a floor with less variation would be better. In general I like bamboo floors but this one has a lot of tonal range.
