man doonie-it would never had worked for our colors or the (non-existent) space above our range-but I LOVE your accent. I bookmarked it a long time ago when you first showed it. The onyx is beautiful.

I've seen it as an entire backsplash. The kitchen I think is hideous but some people have different tastes. Pretty sure the owner of this is color blind.

Well it's not a backsplash but I always think of Pharoah's awesome kitchen when someone mentions onyx. The island has an onyx panel that just about glows with the backlighting.

chicagoans (we are neighbors, Im in Wis)- that second one was what I was thinking. I might not be bold enough to do the tiles in onyx but maybe just the focal point behind the range. Thanks!

I really think the second photo that chicagoans posted is neat. The accent above the range would look great with your New Venetian Gold Granite!

This is an onyx backsplash I installed for a friend. After the sealer was applied, it glowed, but she has dark, almost solid, granite.

I have New Venetian gold granite in my new kitchen - I think the overall onyx would be too busy for it.
