Call to the troops- need backsplash help!!!
Comments (36)I'm having the same problem. I'm sitting here with tile samples in front of me and decided to go to GW and see what others have said about Grazia tile-Rixi Crema in particular. I also have two Sonoma Tile brochures on my desk and can't decide if I like their Star crackled subway tiles more than Grazias. My counters are soapstone with green veining so I'm torn between the cream and green colors. The remainder of our kitchen remodel is on hold while we try and choose the backsplash that will tie everything together. Any opinions on these two? BTW, your kitties look very much like the Maine Coon cat's that my sister and cousin own. I think I'll stop by the Sonoma County Animal Shelter and see if they have any others. They're gorgeous!...See Morestuck on backsplash & come take a peek at my new barstools!!!
Comments (34)Deeageaux, I think our price is around $10.00? Thought I saw something very similar at home depot or lows so I'll hit those places this morning. Our you getting your kitchen done too? What cabinets are you getting? This is the only place I have seen it for less that $13.95... http://www.ceramic-tile4u.com/catalog.php?&s_brand=22&s_Series=&s_Series=Rixi But you have to buy at least 200 sq ft. I have not seen anything anywhere near the same at my three local Lowes. Their crackle is ugly. A few large "cracks";seems more like broken tile. Local guys have to pay Los Angeles rent so.... If your source has somewhat reasonable shipping rates I would love to read about it. Yep,getting my kitchen renoed. Creamy white uppers with expresso stained cherry lowers. Silestone Yukon Blanco or Tigris Sand counters. I have not decided yet. My suggestion to anyone that can't afford this tile .... don't be a looky Lew. Don't get a sample. Your heart will ache with unrequited love LOL....See MoreBacksplash for Typhoon Bordeaux
Comments (46)Hi! The decorator's first choice was the hand-made, matte tile by Ceramica Alhambra. The color is "Trigo" (on the left in the following pics). It was actually the very first tile sample that I brought home from Walker Zinger. Her second choice (on the right) is "Toast" crackle by Sonoma Tilemakers. I would get it in a 3x6. The Trigo comes in a 3x6 but it is beveled, which I love but it does raise the price. Anyone out there have any opinion/experience with a beveled BS? It also comes in the standard 4x4 and there is a 2x4, as well. I have actually fallen in love with the smooth, matte finish and it is a nice "new texture" against the shiny granite. Opinions?? Thanks!!...See MoreIs ceramic crackle tile a problem as backsplash?
Comments (9)I have Sonoma Tile crackle in a light cream. My stove also has about a 10" riser (which I've grown attached to). My b/s has been in for about 16 months and I haven't had a single problem with it. I was warned that it needed to be sealed before installation so that grout wouldn't seep into the crackles. The tile guys said they sealed it but I'm not convinced they did. Anyway, no grout got into the crackles at all. The surface looks the same as the day it was installed. I don't fling spaghetti sauce every which way when I cook. The crackling in my tile is very fine. I don't really see it unless I get up very very close. Instead it just adds a little life to the surface....See Moreellendi
