Not even a close call. Number 2 works perfectly and the others, not at all.
The bar stools look great in your kitchen. They tuck under the counter nicely.

I definitely wouldn't mix another granite tile in with what you've got going on already, especially one with a lot of movement like the last one. I also do love those Rixi tiles -I looked at them too :) But maybe if you think it's going to be just too glittery, take a look at some other ceramics?

Grazia rixi. For sure. The others do not work at all IMHO.

i love the counter--was it ceaserstone or something like that? it looks like marble and i personally like countertops that are more white. (dh not as much!)
when i showed all my neighbors they all thought the rixi was too shiny...what do you guys think? i was reading you shouldn't have a shiny granite counter, with a shiny backsplash it's a no-no.

you know, wasn't too sure about the rixi but now i really love it.

i did look at other ceramics but the rixi tied in so beautifully with my granite.

My vote is for the rixi too, its gorgeous. The bar stools are really nice as well and look perfect for your space.

Another vote for Rixi. I have the Crema crackle subway tiles. You can't tell with only one, but when they all put up, there is a slight uneveness to them that makes them seem like they could be hand made.
I looked at honed too. Right now you just see that one tile. When you get a box, you could get some that are very veiny and that might not be the look you want. Then you would have to buy extra boxes to pick through.
If you look at the FKB most have shiny granite with shiny tile. Never heard of that rule. But it boils down to what you prefer!

Another plus , besides costing less, it would make my kitchen look lighter. Although we have a window the kitchen does not get any direct sun and it can be dark.

I think polished and polished is ok for CT and BS.

You don't want both to have lots of movement.

Something has to be still otherwise it gives people a headache.

I called SoCal distributor. She said $13.95 per sq foot for the Rixi Grazia in 2.5" x 5".

I inferred dealers can discount from there.

I'm sure your DH is a very lovely, thoughtful, kind man, but he has no taste in backsplash tile. Tell him we all say the Grazia Rixi! And what we say goes! ;)

jill, I did choose a white subway tile, somewhat handmade-looking... but its from a really small manufacturer and I could not even find it on line anywhere (when I tried to check pricing against my local tile shop) so I doubt it's very widely available. Plus I can't remember the name - just that it was made in Brazil! Sorry :(

I think shiny and shiny are fine. I had it in my old kitchen and loved it! I used something like your first tile choice with my granite. I love the rixi and the bar stools are great!

I like the Rixi crackle tile. Just my opinion, but I think it is a very classic look that will not date as quickly as the others.

Like so many others have already said, I like the crackle tile option that you posted. You asked about my tile in another thread. It is MSI crema marfil 3x6. Our granite and cabinet colors are so close to each other. With that in mind, it's funny that I almost changed my mind to a crackle tile at the very last minute when I saw a crackle tile sample at the tile place (after a long, drawn-out tile selection process) just as I was about to sign on the dotted line.

Another vote for the Rixi- I love the crackle in it. My crackle subway is going up right now and I am loving it. It is not the same as yours but similar and my granite is similar. Now I have to decide on grout color. I also like those bar stools. Where did you get them?

I have not seen anything anywhere near the same at my three local Lowes. Their crackle is ugly. A few large "cracks";seems more like broken tile.

Local guys have to pay Los Angeles rent so....

Silestone Yukon Blanco or Tigris Sand counters. I have not decided yet.

My suggestion to anyone that can't afford this tile .... don't be a looky Lew. Don't get a sample. Your heart will ache with unrequited love LOL.

I vote for the Rixi! I am a bit biased, since I have a similar rixi tile backsplash in my kitchen. I've had it for about 1.5 years and still adore it! It was about $12 per sq foot.

Oh, barstools were from overstock, I got the cherry with brown leather seat ...actually looks more like black seat but love em anyway!
