I know last year I got a quote from HD for Thomasville. I found Shrock at a small kitchen place, cheaper than HD, but the EXACT same colors & door styles - under different names, but the same thing.

Have you tried Lowes? I thought I saw it there a while back. Can you find an independent Schrock dealer?

It is my understanding that Thomasville is branded to Home Depot and Diamond is the same company which is branded to Lowes. Don't know how Schrock would fit into the picture. We did our kitchen with Diamond. The key to all of it was a superior Lowes designer. We are so very lucky to have found one that knows her kitchen design inside and out and then some! She was every good if not better than independent designers we had contacted. Make sure, whatever you decide, that you go to Home Depot to Home Depot, or Lowes to Lowes searching out the best designer. It makes all the difference in the world.

Breezygirl, the nearest Schrock dealer isn't so near... Kngwd, was it a substantial difference (more than 10%)? If so, maybe it's worth it to drive on over to the Schrock dealer...?

Sleevepresto, good to know about the Lowes designers. When I got my cabinets at HD, the guy knew nothing. I designed the whole kitchen, and knew the product line better than he did. He basically was just inputting them into the system. It worked out fine, but it would be nice to get some good help!

I don't remember exactly....I want to say HD was closer to $13 and Shrock $10k, but I don't remember. I ended up finding a custom maker near me (I'm in NJ) who beat both prices & included installation!

The Shrock dealer I used was over an hour away, but he did everything for the quote via e-mail. Maybe yours will do the same?

Here in Ohio, Menards stocks Schrock and there are some other Schrock dealers listed on the Schrock website.

Kngwd -- that's a pretty significant difference. But, what is more amazing, is that you were able to get custom for less!!!

I haven't ever heard of Menards near here. But doing it over email may be an option. I'll try that first.

Shrock is the same as Thomasville, Diamond, & Kemper. Everything is identical, just labeled differently for different dealers.

robbcs3 -- I am surprised to hear that!? I was always under the impression that Thomasville was a bit better (in terms of wood selection/construction), and Diamond was better still (have not seen Kemper around here). Why would anybody buy Thomasville/Diamond if they are identical to Schrock, and Schrock is cheaper? I guess I will definitely deal with the Schrock dealer if that is true!

I got a bid from Schrock via Costco. I don't know if all Costcos carry Schrock or if this was one of their temporary things. My bid was in about April or May.

Hi Colorfast. I'm in New York. I'd heard that Costco carried Schrock & took a look at the one near me, but I didn't see a Schrock display. I looked near Customer Service, where they had Hunter Douglas, California Closets, and some other stuff, but no Schrock. Is that where I should be looking, or is there another area in the store that may have it?

My guess is the marketing. You never see anything on shrock, but there are ads for Diamond & Thomasville everywhere. Also, it may not be the one is cheaper, just marked up differently from different dealers. The individual dealers sets the price, and it may be marked up differently to different people.
