Any brand of shelf liner that is 15 inches deep???
Comments (8)I have shelf liner on all my painted shelves in my old pantry. Makes sense to me. So easy to remove it to wash it in the kitchen if something leaks or spills. And the one I use "cushions" crystal when I set it down rim first. I also used it to line drawers and cabinets in new kitchen. Again, makes cleaning easy. I would order "Cushy Cupboards" --see link below to a recent discussion--in 24" width and cut it to fit with a yardstick and a razor blade. The 24" width fills up shelves quickly and it lies flat and even without cut edges curling up. It is a little pricey, but I have found it very worth every penny. Comments (6)Thank you pipdog and chista :) Never even thought of Sur La Table as an option, nor Williams Sonoma. Great suggestions! Ikea and Bed Bath are right near me as you said, so I'll try them first. And just so you know, the Pasadena flea market is AWESOME! We bought two hand made mosaic patio chairs in the shapes of a face and a butterfly, (the actual wrought iron as well as the tiles), a small, mosaic sailboat table and a mosaic tile covered turtle my DH just weirdly fell in love with all for 75 bucks! It was the end of the day and we were able to "bundle". We bought the stuff before we even closed on the house LOL! Now they're sitting in our front courtyard area and all of our new neighbors come over and ask where we got them. A great bonus perk: conversation starters :) Wear really, really comfortable shoes and use the restrooms before you go through the gates. Bring water and lots of cash in small denominations. Don't be discouraged by the huge surrounding ring of common, new junk you could get at any street fair back in NY. There is a different, massive area of old collectibles and treasures. Large furniture selection wasn't all that, but the smaller stuff is great. Have fun and let me know what you found!...See MoreIs there anything more to be said about shelf liners?
Comments (18)Sallysue: or lending dh! OK - here's something more to say; sort of. That Cushy Cupboards stuff is seriously weird. Or at least un-American or something; the company that is. Who's ever heard of such a good product, then, having zero shelf space? I mean, before I shell out at least 30% more for a product of questionable necessity to begin with, I do want to see it, and not at my own expense. That's why there are retail stores (the "not at my own expense" part is wrong of course; it is and comes in their markup). So I was curious as to why it isn't available hardly anywhere. No 'contact us' on the website but there is an LLC name; I googled that and called ... someone's condo's kitchen I think! I spoke with a very nice man who is the seller of it, wouldn't tell me how the stuff comes to exist (his prerogative not to, but I'm curious all the same), explained he has no distributor, but why he doesn't just drive north for an afternoon to Ground Zero of consumerism on the globe, which is about 50 miles north of him (cf Whole Foods Parking Lot of earlier), I just don't get. "Not in the plans". OK, I suppose that doesn't make you weird, but it sure makes you a curiosity in 21st century America. Geesh, you'd think at least VT Country Store? Why sell a product if you're not going to sell it? Probably, somehow, he just happens to have the stuff, maybe, and a friend runs DeNaults, maybe, or something? ... I dunno. Not my business, obviously. But it's awfully hard for me to shell out all that moola w/o seeing it, especially given qualms about using anything at all. Oh well, what a curiosity. I assumed it had to be some sort of space-program spinoff, the material that is. When I suggested that possibility the puzzlement on the other end of the phone line was palpable; guess not! Destined to remain an enigma....See Moreas long as we're talking about shelf liners ...what about closet?
Comments (1)I would. Acid free paper is good. Just be careful it doesn't smell. I put some fancy drawer paper in one chest and didn't realize that it had enough scent to transfer to my clothes. Ugh. Or you could use Cushy Cupboards too :)...See Moresue4993
