When I was pricing out my old kitchen design, the Decora was more expensive than the Kemper. I know Decora does come standard with plywood sides and full extension soft close drawers while these are upgrades in Kemper. I'm wondering if they priced those upgrades into your Kemper quote. Your choice of door style and color can have a significant impact on the final cost. In some cases, a special glaze or paint finish can be a 20% upcharge. In Decora, the Antique Bronze (cream w/brown glaze) finish was a 7% upcharge while the Eggshell & White paint finishes were a 15% upcharge. In Kemper, the Amaretto Creme or Toasted Almond are a 12% upcharge. You might want to take a look at buycabinets.com. They have a spec. book that shows the retail list prices for the Kemper cabinets. They call them Somersby. I'm not sure what buycabinets discount from retail is but Costco had a 67% discount off retail on Kemper cabinets for comparison. The Warwick door style is the same as the Tyson one in Somersby and is the second most expensive door style even more than most of the door styles in Cherry. If you love this door style, you're in luck since you can really shop around as Kemper, Schrock, Thomasville (Home Depot), Diamond (Lowes), and Somersby are all pretty much the same cabinets. So, time to chime in here. I went with the Blue Star 36" induction cook top 2 years ago. Looks great, LOVED the knobs, worked fantastic... for about 18 months. I'll note that unlike their other products it only has a 1 year warranty. First, the two rightmost burners started indicating they were overheating when the central burner was in use (and the rightmost were not). I reset the system at the breaker per the manual and it rand great for three weeks with a hitch, then the central and right top burner cut out entirely. Three days later they came back, but wouldn't heat above level 7 (out of 10). I had (or so I thought) the good sense to get an extended warranty, but after getting a service guy out here the warranty company informs me it will cost more to fix than I paid in the first place, so they're going to cash me out. Blue Star may be good in other areas (no experience here), but based on my experience with this one, I don't think they have enough time making this product to reach their usual degree of reliability. Addendum: looks like Blue Star (when I bought it) had a narrower cut out (18") than anything currently on the market, including their own product. At least it looks like they're learning from past mistakes...

I purchased an entire thermidor kitchen. 48” grand pro range, hood, dishwasher, and side by side freezer and fridge. The first time I turned it on the oven burned my brand new cabinets and an error code comes on. Periodically the temp probe tells me to unplug it when it's not in fact plugged in. It's been over a month and the repairman says it needs a new motherboard. The company is insisting I just let them repair an oven that was delivered broken and is currently a fire hazard. Not sure about the rest of you but when an appliance is broken from day one - you they are duds for life. Being this is my new forever home I would rather it be replaced. Thermador has sent me and my distributor through multiple hoops, they tell her one thing and me a completely different thing. They sent claim forms to my new construction home (which isnt an official address). They were rude on the phone. I have never gotten to use my Thermador appliances but would never roll the dice with them again. Because if you ever have problems, they will not help you unless it suits them. What kind of company has so customer service or pride in their product they won't replace a broken fire hazard? If you are thinking about getting a Thermador...DON’T Bosch owns Thermador... I've owned Wolf/Subzero and they were ok. Had some minor issues after 7 years but worked well.

I have sold all 3 of these. To start with - when discussing Wolf - they have 3 levels of cabinetry so you have to be careful with their reviews ( there is classic, designer and signature ) . They all price out differently and have different door styles and finishes. Wolf Classic is their entry level - I used it mostly for house flips and apartments. Tru - was a newer company when I started selling them. They had lots of nice options but their construction was mediocre at best. They may have improved since then. Fabuwood is a decent line although limited on their selection ( as is Wolf Classic ) . Their cabinet box is pretty decent and they use good quality hinges and glides. You will always find bad reviews for products - rarely do you see good reviews posted! Your designer should be helping you through this process and be honest about their dealings with them - were they quick to respond to damages, are they getting calls . Currently, the place i am at has Fabuwood; I don't deal with the other companies at all. So I don't know how they are doing post pandemic. Fabuwood has been pretty good for us.
