Is BM White Dove going to be too white?

Of all the ones I've tried, I like this one the best, but I am afraid it will look too white once it is all over the cabinets. The others look too yellow, or too "bright." I want a warm white, but not beige. I don't have much more time to decide, either. I just don't want it to look stark. I have dark wood floors, and the countertop is Blue Lagos Quartz (dark greyish brown). Backsplash and wall paint have yet to be decided!

In my experience, the paint looks significantly lighter on the cabinet than on a sample. The slight gloss to the paint makes it appear lighter, too.

We used Lancaster White on our island, which, on a sample/paint chip, looks fairly yellowish and pretty dark compared to a lot of whites, but on the island certainly doesn't look dark and, to me, not very yellow. In other words, not only does it lighten, but washes out from the perception given by the little swatches.

This is the best photo I have at the moment. I only show it so if, in your search of BM colors, you see a sample of the Lancaster White, you can see the difference in swatch to reality and may be able to relate it to other colors that interest you.

I sampled the BM White Dove after seeing it recommended here for a warm white (needed for trim) but found it too white for what I was looking for. I went with the BM Mayonaise and am very happy with it.

I'm using it and find it quite cool, but maybe because it's surrounded by cool-toned things: stainless appliances, blue-gray granite, and smoky blue tile. There's a definite gray tone to it (makes sense, White Dove and all).

The BM Classics and Preview fan packs have a color called White Dove. They also have a color called Dove Wing below White Dove on the same color strip. Neither of those fan packs has a color called Dove White. I often refer to the color I painted my cabinets as "White Dove/Dove White, whateever (!) I can't remember which order it should be!" What I don't know is whether another company may use the same name to describe a different color.

Ivory white is not Acadia white. Ivory white #925 is in the Classic colors fandeck and Acadia white #OC38 is in the Preview colors fandeck. They are very close in color. jbrodies' kitchen that was recently posted as finished has cabinets in Acadia White. Here's a pic of ours while being remodeled. We're not quite done yet, but you can get an idea of the Ivory White color. The wall next to the cabinet has been primed so it is white in color and you can see the Ivory white next to it has a bit of yellow creaminess to it. My hutch top is walnut so you can see it next to brown. Also, I have a lot of natural light in my kitchen, during the evening the cabs look even more creamy. I think either color would look great with Tropical Brown.

I vote with Sina. White tone on tone can be very elegant. And you save yourself the trouble of sampling a bunch of paints. However, I always recommend sampling anything. Make sure you have ample natural light in the room you want to paint white. Otherwise, it can look shadowy and sad.

You can’t go wrong with either Simply White or White Dove for kitchen cabinets. Both look great with dark countertops and gold accents. I saw another thread where someone had White Down, and it was kind of a creamy white.

We are looking at whites, and I like White Heron, too. It is not as stark.

That's hard to answer, because whites look different in different lights. We have White Dove trim and doors, and I think it's fine. We tried it in our mtn house, and it wasn't right. Simply White worked there (it was very neutral).

Well, we ended up going with White Dove, and I think it looks great. It is a touch too white, but overall I think it is really nice. It looks very warm in our kitchen, and our countertops are a greyish brown. Now we need to pick wall color!

Could you post a picture? I've also heard a lot about White Dove and would like to see how it turned out with your counter.
