easy thing to do would be to buy a chrome dispenser.. and see if you okay with it before ripping out the faucet.. thou you might find that a stainless steal will resist some of the finger prints and water stains you might get on the chrome ones.. at least thats been my limited experience..

I don't think it looks bad either. I like the brighter shine on the faucets. It's like jewlery on your counter.

I agree with Marti. In fact I'm planning to do the same thing. I like the sparkle of the chrome. I don't think it clashes; it just adds interest.

Also, unless you're getting the same brand faucet as the sink, in a number of homes I've seen, it seemed to clash with the sink because the 2 ss were quite different.

Sorry to go OT, but is that a 2 drawer Kitchenaid dishwasher? I don't suppose you've had a chance to use it yet, but do you like it? Anyone you like it/recommend it?

Completely agree with the other posters. We have a chrome faucet, chrome integrated soap dispenser and chrome airswitch. The rest of our appliances are stainless steel. I like the look of the chrome fixtures around the sink and don't think they clash at all with the appliances. Also, as helou points out, often the SS in plumbing fixtures is different than the appliance SS, so make sure you seem them in person if you opt to switch out your faucet.

Chrome is classic and you don't have to worry about marks on it, etc., like for stainless. Your kitchen looks great!

I think they are noticing the contrast of the shiny fixtures against the "dull" finish on the appliances and counter top. I would go for a shiny finish on your backsplash, e.g., glass or another tile. It would pick up the shine and I think look great!

Also, everything you have in there is angular. When you decorate, some rounded things (plates, bottles, etc.) will help to soften it up a bit. Again, shiny things will go with the shiny surface of your faucet and tie it all together.

Have you picked out a backsplash yet? You could go with a wide range of colors since your kitchen counters are rather neutral in color. I am excited. I think the possibilities are endless and lots of things would be beautiful in there!

Agree with the others ... I think it looks fine. There is very little about a faucet that would/should make you want to associate it with appliances to find coherence.

Let me just say that I have stainless steel appliances - DW, sink, oven, cooktop AND faucet and soap dispenser. I also have stainless steel bar pulls. But I have never looked at the kitchen and thought - oh good, the faucet/dispenser matches the rest of the metal in here. It is too far separated - functionally as well as spatially - from the others to make that association.

Your friends scare me with their level of attention to detail! :-) I mean to say, they'd probably approve of the finish matching bits in my kitchen but lord, they'd probably find a whole host of discrepancies that I don't even know about! LOL!

Helou, yes, KA Dishdrawer. It is properly installed (and pushed back) now. And we have been using it up a storm. I like it for the convenience. MY dh finds that it doesn't have much room - we keep things separate because we keep kosher, so we have to load the meat dishes in one, the dairy dishes in the other. That is the reason we bought it. But if you can have more fleixiblity, you will definitely have enough room to put large loads.
ONe caveat: It is EXTREMELY difficult to install. Our plumber couldn't do it, the first installation team for ABT couldnt do it, we had to get the elite custom kitchen team from ABT to come out. I would only recommend buying it IF you have an installer who has installed it before!

if it was really so bad to have SS appliances and other metal finishes elsewhere, everyone would have SS everything in their kitchens.

that's silly. no need to coordinate every metal surface in your kitchen.

I agree with all the other ladies, leave it the way it is , it looks good. We just got a brand new Grohe super stainless steel faucet, and we've had the chrome water tap for the reverse osmosis for years, they look good together, the reverse osmosis small tap is at the end of the sink, and the main faucet is in the middle of the sink, they're not beside each other, which is why the two finishes are ok.

I've seen many GWers use a different finish faucet than their hardware with great results, so I'm sure your soap dispenser looks just fine. Luckily changing it out should be cheap. I'd look at Target, Tuesday Morning, Marshall's, whateve discount stores are in your area, in the bath section.
