Rohl Country Series-PullOut Style Faucet Reviews

Considering purchasing this Rohl faucet for my kitchen, but I am having a very hard time finding reviews on-line. I love the "look" of this faucet but I want to make sure it's a good investment before I buy...Anyone want to weigh-in? In other words, are Rohl faucets worth the $$$

I think I saw someone's kitchen one here that had it months ago, as I think that's how I found out about it. After seeing it in person, and getting the sense that it was a good solid faucet, I ordered it locally from a plumbing supply with a very good reputation. It came in, but I'm still in the middle of cabinet install, so I haven't used it yet. I don't anticipate being dissappointed. Can't wait to use it - good luck with your decision, hopefully someone who has had it for a while will chime in.

Elbal...I LOVE how it looks! It has such a classic, yet contemporary look. I just want it to work/function well and I can't find any reviews. Did you get the one with the metal pull out hose or the one that is made of fibers?

@jellytoast -- I can look at photos of a kitchen or laundry and pretty much tell when it was built by the appliances, faucet choice, granite and tile. Not always, but usually. Home trends are very slow to change. Because when people are spending a lot of $$ they tend to be cautious about choices, as we know here. New products are slower to catch on then might be imagined and trends move slowly in kitchens & baths. Even major manufacturers launch new products once a year or less. Often what someone cites as new in an article is new in that place but maybe not elsewhere. So when someone posts and asks are pro style faucets "over" the answer is no, because as you say they are still being sold/displayed (and may always be). But the answer is that they also are less of a novelty now that they've been around for a time -- perhaps in much the same way the Kohler Karbon faucet is. So that choice becomes a style alternative vs a basic because pull downs have become the basic in terms of functionality. They offer the same type things as pro style faucets in a more conventional package & size. Plus pull downs is the category getting the tech add ons such as the touch and sensor pull-down faucets or something like the KWC Ono which has an LED light in the tip over the past few years. I say that pull outs are dated because, in the past 5 years, they have been used far less frequently than pull downs. They are lower and extend into the sink further (more prone to bumping) ad the pull out is not generally considered as easy to handle as the pull down. They are still sold and still purchased but not at the same pace as pull downs. Their "cool" factor (for anyone concerned about that) is gone. The same could be said of bridge faucets with side sprayers. They are a choice for traditional kitchens and certain historical types but there isn't much more they offer now than 10 years ago plus they take up another hole in the sink that could be used for a filter or hot water or something that gives additional function to the user user experience. Not to say they aren't lovely. Not talking about like/dislike any particular style. We all have our own taste and that's to be respected.

Rohl's services sucks for such expensive brand. I had a brand new A3608 faucet in storage for 4 years. When ready to install it, I found lots of spots on the chrome surface. I submitted a request of replacing the unit. After 2 days, I received an email from Michael Cantin, Technical Support Associate, House of Rohl, saying need more photos (only one photo allowed when submit the request, bad limitation). I emailed him 7 more photos. However, no response from Rohl. I called them and talked with Michael and was asked to send photos again. I resent photos and was told "That looks like a bit of tarnish. Recommended polishes include Flitz polish, Simichrome, or Wrights." I did it according to Michael's recommendation. Yes, many spots are gone, however, there are still some spots with damaged chrome layer, metal color appeal, roughness felt by hand. I reported the fact to Michael, however, no response. I called back and discussed the issue with another rep of Rohl. I was told she would discuss this issue with Michael (she told me Michael is manager of tech support). Again, no response from Rohl. I feel I am deserve a good customer service since the faucet is soo expensive. I guess I am wrong. I remember I received an excellent service, have a similar issue, from Price Pfister. I think Rohl's service is not acceptable, shame for such a reputable vendor. I think no more Rohl for me in the future. I may file a complain to consumer report agency as well.

I have a Kohler pull down. You don't have to keep the button pushed in to spray. There's also a feature that allows you to temporarily stop the flow of water by holding in a button, very handy if you're pulling the faucet over to the counter to fill something up and don't want water flowing the whole time. I love it. It wasn't super expensive. I wasn't sure about the high arch profile of this faucet, but it sure provides a lot of maneuvering room beneath it for large pots. It will also swivel out of the way. I haven't checked the features in the link, but I assume the current model is the same as mine. Here is a link that might be useful: Kohler Simplice faucet

I ended up here, because I'm redoing my kitchen and trying to make a decision about the faucet. I have various faucets throughout my house from Kohler, Moen, Restoration Hardware, and Newport Brass. I think the Restoration Hardware fixtures are made by Newport Brass, because we had to call them when we needed to replace. We've had them from 10-12 years, so I don't know the styles or even if they are made. Almost all are polished nickel, and the Kohler and Moen are always spotless, laundry room and bathroom, respectively. I'm not crazy about the pull down sprayer on the Kohler. The Moen Showcase (do they still make this line?) is in the bathroom, and I love it so much, because I can just pour water over it and it will dry spotless. It's amazing. It is wall mount, and I wish I had it in every bathroom. Because of my success with Moen, when I needed a faucet for my kitchen, I bought an inexpensive (relative to all the other faucets I have) Moen at Home Depot. It is the only non polished nickel faucet I have. It is stainless steel, still looks brand new (10 years+), and the pull down sprayer works wonderfully. Unfortunately, I'd never buy fixtures from Restoration Hardware again. They spot like crazy. The Newport Brass are slightly better, but they also spot. I'm looking at Kohler and Moen for my new kitchen, but the choices are limited in polished nickel. Now I'll look at California Faucets, too, but I'll skip Rohl, since someone mentioned the polished nickel spots so much.

Must be the one with the metal pull out hose, as I don't know what you mean about the one with fibers. I didn't pick it up yet, as I will bring it to the fabricator with the sink when we are ready for that. When I also saw it at a luxury home design center, they said it was their best seller. The place I bought it from prides themselves on selling good quality items; I do think I can trust this product.

Thank you for your confidence in this brand. The faucet with the metal pull-out hose is more expensive than the one with fibers (my mind is blank on the correct term...nylon maybe???) The hose is softer and I am assuming over time could leak??? However, this faucet is more in line with our budget. The one with the metal hose is $150 more, so not sure if it would be worth that?

Capegirl - I have the Rohl country pull out as my main faucet. I also have the metal hose which I would say is a must, especially when buying higher end faucets. I love the functionality of the faucet itself and it seems to be doing just fine with regular daily use. I also have another Rohl for my bar sink area which I love to use as well. Here is a picture of mine in satin...

jgopp, great to hear! Mine is a different model (R77V3)- the spout comes up at an angle, not curved, and the hot/cold lever is centered behind it.

My friend has the R77V3 for about 3 years and likes it. She did have one issue when first installed and Rohl replaced the entire thing no questions asked (i.e. instead of dithering with parts and waiting for replies and that sort of thing). Since then the faucet has been problem-free. She likes that the faucet can look both traditional and yet not old-fashioned at the same time - that's hard to find! She said she made one mistake though due to her sink is small. The Rohl Country pull-out offers two faucet reaches, a 9" (R77V3) and a 7-1/8" (R77V3S), and she bought the longer one. She wished she'd bought the shorter one which would fit better in her small sink. She has thought about switching it out, but doesn't want to be bothered at this point. Just something to think about if you have a small sink.

Elba - the reason I picked this one was because I liked the extra height it gave over the sink. I was worried I would be bumping pots and what not into it if I ordered the other style. Do you run into any problems like that?

jgopp, I don't have it in the house yet, as the cabinets are being installed. I'm getting the Blanco super sigranit sink, so I think it will be wide & deep enough that it shouldn't be a problem. Yours looks great!

Hmmm...I have not seen two different lengths offered in the hose. I will have to check that before I order. Thanks for the "headsup"! Our sink will be medium/average size, I think....32"WX9"DX???can't rememberL...so the regular style should be alright for me but with the shorter hose. I ordered my sinks this morning and they were less than I had expected, so maybe the better metal hose model could be a possibility. :o)

Capegirl05 - just to be clear, I didn't say that the "hose" was a different length. I don't know what is the length of the hose on the two sizes of the Rohl Country Pull-out. I said that the faucet reach was a different length; the R77V3 is 9" and the R77V3S is 7-1/8". The "faucet reach" is the horizontal distance from the spout opening to where it connects to the sink or countertop. If you go to the Rohl website, and look at the specifications pages for the R77V3 and R77V3S, you will see the faucet reaches of 9" and 7-1/8" for the two faucets.

I did not understand when you said "the regular style should be alright but with the shorter hose". I think that if your sink is 32" wide, than the 9" faucet reach would be better.

Hey Shannon, the faucet that I finally setteled on has an 8" reach...that should be fine. I am really thrilled to be able to include this faucet in my kitchen and can't wait to do dishes! Wait, did I really just say that? Funny what us "kitchen people" get excited about. I completed our order last night for all of the sinks, faucets, and shower fixtures and I was so relieved to finally get it done! Thanks for your imput!

Capegirl: Good luck with your choice! The backsplash consists of all 3x6 tiles, even the decorative marble part.
