Does anyone have Glass tile backsplash?

I'm looking at doing subway tiles (4x6) glass tiles (similar to this photo) and am wondering if they are hard to keep clean...especially the ones behind the sink? do you see water splatter marks that make them look dirty constantly?
What are the pro's and cons to having them?

My daughter has the long skinny glass tiles in various shades of green/blue (the kind that come on a sheet from HD or Lowes) as a sink backsplash. They came with the apartment. Water spots are a constant problem.

I put 12x4 glass tile in along the wall behind the cooktop. I have to clean it, but no differently than I would need to clean ceramic or stone. FWIW I'm the kind that would still see the spots if it were a white subway tile, stone or glass tiles.

I just realized I did not answer your question. No, the two are different. I am not good at posting pics so here is a link to kitchens with Carrera and also with Calacatta Gold. There is also a Calacatta Green which is what I was really hoping to find a small slab of. Sorry it took so long to check back in on my question, but we were out of town for the wine fest all weekend.(Our DIY would be moving much quicker if we could just stay in town) Thanks to everyone for the responses. Suzieca, gorgeous backsplashes in your link. The bamboo belongs in my future master bath - after DH recovers from current reno. Cate, you were right it was your thread. The khaki red was what he was thinking of, but mauve wouldn't work for me. If you still have the sample, I'd be happy to pay shipping just to exclude it from contention.

Jaynes123 "Until GW, I wasnt even aware kitchens had BSs," Same here. The only backsplashes I saw in newly remodeled kitchens were the same granite as that on the counters. Then I see all the posts about backsplashes here in GW and folks asking again and again what kind of backsplash should I get, or does this or that look good for a backsplash. I asked my wife, "What the heck is going on in GardenWeb and all this "Backsplash thing". She says "Some tile sales folks are hanging around and all they gotta do is convince a person or two and the rest follow. That was probably close to 10 years ago now. We see it over and over again, first White kitchens, Now gray. Now everybody must have an Island~~~~and on and On it goes~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I guess if you are a "Follower Type", all is well and good. But I've always done my own thing and will continue to do so. I will say that one place GW was a lotta help and Yea I did follow, was with Induction, Luv it!!!!~~~the other "Stuff", not so much ~~but ~~~~~that's just this old guys opinion, not necessarily right or wrong! Anyone have a 'honey/ caramel onyx glass stone blend' backsplash?

We have a rough textured honey onyx in our master bath BS, which I love, but not sure I would want it in a kitchen because I think it would be very difficult to clean splatters off the rough, uneven texture. Not sure if the one from HD is rough or not, but if you like the look, try to get something that is smooth and more even.

^ I agree with schicksal - you're going to get water spots no matter what you put up there be it ceramic or glass. We even had slate tile in our last kitchen and I could see mineral spots and goop. At least with glass you know it'll be very easy to clean off...

I don't have any problems with my glass backsplash, althought there is a window directly over the sink. I agree that just about any surface is going to splashed from time to time. But, I'm not one that has to have glass and stainless steel immaculate all the time, either.

I used a textured glass tile and I could not see water spots at all.

Our glass tile (mosaic) backsplash is a mix of glossy and frosted/matte glass tile strips, which is probably more "forgiving" than larger, all glossy tiles would be. Unless there's an obvious splash or splatter (eg., tomato sauce, beet juice...), I have to remind myself to wipe down the backsplash occasionally, as it rarely if ever looks dirty. :)
