Does anyone have Glass tile backsplash?

I'm looking at doing subway tiles (4x6) glass tiles (similar to this photo) and am wondering if they are hard to keep clean...especially the ones behind the sink? do you see water splatter marks that make them look dirty constantly?
What are the pro's and cons to having them?

My daughter has the long skinny glass tiles in various shades of green/blue (the kind that come on a sheet from HD or Lowes) as a sink backsplash. They came with the apartment. Water spots are a constant problem.

I put 12x4 glass tile in along the wall behind the cooktop. I have to clean it, but no differently than I would need to clean ceramic or stone. FWIW I'm the kind that would still see the spots if it were a white subway tile, stone or glass tiles.

Thanks very much for that photo, monkeyjac. Wow, that is an amazing job they did with your seam. In my case the sink is centered on the island, with the widest part of the arch across from the sink and facing the family room directly. If I knew for sure that it would look like yours, I would have no concerns! This has actually been my hardest decision. I have come to think something like NVG could work best in my kitchen for a number of reasons. Not only does it complement both of my cabinet colors but I feel that as much as I love the movement granites, too much in a large space could easily overwhelm (there's a desk and bar area I'm covering, too). Thats something that my KD has cautioned me about as well and he loves granite with movement. Also looks like you put in the exact Artisan sink I'm considering. I'm between this or the Ticor. Thanks for all the recommendations; I knew I could count on GW! Stei, I looked at the link you posted. Under the Tempo design, it says not available in the US. Are you in Canada, or did you manage to get the tile through a distributor in the States? Paintergirl, thanks for your sleuthing! I didn't see any info about the tile on Decorpad, but I must not have gone far enough. Funny that the referenced sites seem to be wrong. Jumab, thanks for the link. I will check out the site and see where a showroom might be. Malhgold, I hadn't thought of it being separate pieces. We were planning to DIY the backsplash, but that sounds a bit complicated! Has anyone here posted an experience with a mosaic tile like that in individual pieces?

Sorry it took so long to check back in on my question, but we were out of town for the wine fest all weekend.(Our DIY would be moving much quicker if we could just stay in town) Thanks to everyone for the responses. Suzieca, gorgeous backsplashes in your link. The bamboo belongs in my future master bath - after DH recovers from current reno. Cate, you were right it was your thread. The khaki red was what he was thinking of, but mauve wouldn't work for me. If you still have the sample, I'd be happy to pay shipping just to exclude it from contention.

Anyone have a 'honey/ caramel onyx glass stone blend' backsplash?

We have a rough textured honey onyx in our master bath BS, which I love, but not sure I would want it in a kitchen because I think it would be very difficult to clean splatters off the rough, uneven texture. Not sure if the one from HD is rough or not, but if you like the look, try to get something that is smooth and more even.

^ I agree with schicksal - you're going to get water spots no matter what you put up there be it ceramic or glass. We even had slate tile in our last kitchen and I could see mineral spots and goop. At least with glass you know it'll be very easy to clean off...

I don't have any problems with my glass backsplash, althought there is a window directly over the sink. I agree that just about any surface is going to splashed from time to time. But, I'm not one that has to have glass and stainless steel immaculate all the time, either.

I used a textured glass tile and I could not see water spots at all.

Our glass tile (mosaic) backsplash is a mix of glossy and frosted/matte glass tile strips, which is probably more "forgiving" than larger, all glossy tiles would be. Unless there's an obvious splash or splatter (eg., tomato sauce, beet juice...), I have to remind myself to wipe down the backsplash occasionally, as it rarely if ever looks dirty. :)
