Does anyone remember this backsplash tile?

This may be futile, but I'm trying to find a specific backsplash tile. Way back in April or May(before I joined when I was still lurking and didn't know to save info before it dropped off) someone had posted looking for help w/ a backsplash. One of the responders had given 3 or 4 suggestions a couple of which were mesh-backed glass tile mosaics. I think one of them might have been Jeffrey Court Bali Green. One of the suggestions was an unusual shaped one like a small herringbone. I had clicked on that link and it brought me to a site with other glass mosaics one of which was a red bricks and sticks type mosaic. Is this ringing any bells w/ anyone? Is the OP or responder still out there?

I am desperately looking for this because after showing DH literally hundreds of samples in person and on the computer, it is getting towards crunch time. DH says to me last night, I liked that other one. ????????? He drew it out and said it was the first one you showed me. Good thing I had put the sawzall away.

Was it a thin style bamboo like glass tile? Thin strips that have off set joints? I've saved a bunch of glass tile sites but not sure what you mean by red bricks and sticks.

Remodelfla, yes it was a thin, long tile but the sizes were all different, not uniform. Bricks and sticks is just what some of the sites call the thin long stuff that's not all the same size. I've been looking and looking.

OK - I have been wracking my brain trying to think of "something" to do behind my range. I'm getting a range with micro above, so there's not tons of room, and I wanted something a little different. Just curious: what are your opinions on using a monogram like this. I think I really like it. We'll be here a while, so re-sale isn't really a big concern, but do you think someone would come in and be totally turned-off by an initial that's not their's? Is it something that can be easily changed out? The monograms look sort of fancy, but for some reason I feel like it would go in my very not-fancy kitchen. Thoughts? Thanks - SQ

Does anyone have problems with their marble backsplash etching?

What I'm seeing on my monitor doesn't work together (marble looks dull and dirty -- more beige while the granite is glossy and grey), but to answer the question, if you put marble on the splash, it will etch. The character and chemical makeup of the stone won't change because you install it on a vertical surface instead of a horizontal one. In fact, your undercounter and hood lighting might make the etching more obvious. On the other hand, splatters on a splash tend to be fewer and smaller than spills on a counter. You have to figure out what bothers you. If you have a low tolerance, look at ceramic or glass. If you think you will be fine with it, look for a better lot of the marble.

Thanks for all the recommendations; I knew I could count on GW! Stei, I looked at the link you posted. Under the Tempo design, it says not available in the US. Are you in Canada, or did you manage to get the tile through a distributor in the States? Paintergirl, thanks for your sleuthing! I didn't see any info about the tile on Decorpad, but I must not have gone far enough. Funny that the referenced sites seem to be wrong. Jumab, thanks for the link. I will check out the site and see where a showroom might be. Malhgold, I hadn't thought of it being separate pieces. We were planning to DIY the backsplash, but that sounds a bit complicated! Has anyone here posted an experience with a mosaic tile like that in individual pieces?

I don't have CE, but our granite is also a dark stone(Labrador Golden Flake), so you might be able to get an idea from a pic of my kitchen. Our backsplash is a mosaic from Artistic Tiles--a mix of glossy and matte (frosted) glass strips in varying lengths and widths. The tile itself is clear, but is "painted" white on the backs. Because it is not Starfire/Starphire (aka low-iron) glass, it reads slightly blue-green in different lighting, at different times of day. In thses pics it just happens to look pretty white. I think you're remembering my backsplash-help thread. I hope that's it, and that it isn't too late. I've been taking a break from all things kitchen. Cold turkey.

We ordered a sample of the Khaki Red, and it showed a bit mauve. We also ordered a sample of the Olive. It was more true to the color I can see on my screen but lacked the depth of Jeffrey Court's Bali Green (which we'll be using).

Mosaic Source shipped the samples very quickly.

Could it have been from the Oceanside Tile website? Their main page has red glass tile in it. They also have the Geologie line which has different tavertines and glass tiles in a variety of styles.

Sorry it took so long to check back in on my question, but we were out of town for the wine fest all weekend.(Our DIY would be moving much quicker if we could just stay in town)

Thanks to everyone for the responses. Suzieca, gorgeous backsplashes in your link. The bamboo belongs in my future master bath - after DH recovers from current reno.

Cate, you were right it was your thread. The khaki red was what he was thinking of, but mauve wouldn't work for me. If you still have the sample, I'd be happy to pay shipping just to exclude it from contention.
