another "where to end backsplash"
Comments (10)I would bring it down from the end up your upper cabinet. On the one side right by the door you "could" take it all the way to the door frame & down to the floor. But to keep it uniform to the other side I would probably end it at the upper cabinet as well. Otherwise you will have it sticking out the top & you will have to have a bullnose piece & decide how to do the corner....See MoreWhere to end backsplash
Comments (5)Assuming the right side of the upper right hand cabinet is an inch or two from the corner, I'd stop the splash there. I don't like the idea of running it all the way to the corner, because I think it would look awkward from the side. I'd cap the end with metal (Schluter), but any unobtrusive cap would be OK. Honestly, I'm more concerned about the way the hood isolates the upper right wall cabinet - it looks lost over there - and would think about continuing the tile up to the bottom of the hood, or even up to the top of the wall cabinets, to tie it into the rest of the cabinet line....See MoreWhere to end backsplash when tile goes to ceiling...
Comments (25)Your tile looks great. If it was my kitchen I would not tile above the window. If you could replace that can light above the sink with some type of slightly blingy rectangular or oval semi flush mount light that might look nice. Here are just a few random ones I found (sorry if the pictures are too big). I'm sure other GWers could come up with more options If you didn't want to do a light fixture some horizontal art work piece could be put in the space....See MoreWhere to end backsplash with awkward kitchen window placement?
Comments (8)I am going to assume you knew this was going to happen all along! Why didn't you plan to move, remove or resize the window? I think at this point I would go beyond the window and counters by whatever amount will make it look intentional, and bring it down to the floor. You will need bull-nosed version of your tile or a matching pencil/liner tile to have a proper finished edge from ceiling to floor. Hard to say without seeing what is beyond the window....See MoreUser
