Finsihed Creamy White and Soapstone Kitchen - Pics!
Comments (77)Sankaty Thanks for the compliment! I love my Deltana pulls. They have a nice flat finish that matches well with the latches and with the soapstone. I think a single pull will be fine on a 36" drawer. The dishwasher is to the right of the sink and, yes, it is panelled. It is a Miele Optima and ordered specifically for panelling. The panel was ordered along with the cabinets and slipped right on. Check with Kitchen Aid to determine if your model can take a custom panel. One reason why we chose the Miele is because of how the panel is flush with the rest of the cabinets. Some DW with panel kits stick out a little. They are not trully flush. I forget which brands but I think Kitchen Aid is one....See MoreSneak Peak - Rift Sawn Oak Cabinets
Comments (29)LoPay, I love your cabinets! This is what I want to do in our kitchen. Did a local cabinetmaker make your cabinets? What is the finish? Please advise - everything just looks so yellow! Thank you...See MorePlease critique my layout!
Comments (14)Smm, I hadn't thought about that. Any reason in particular you think that would work better? Just to have it closer to the dining table? I'll have to take a picture to illustrate it, but the wall to the living room has a little bit jutting out, kind of like a pony wall with a ledge on it. I drew the plan showing it all as wall, but there is actually 8-10" less wall space up above, so the fridge couldn't go as far down as the current base cabinet in the plan. I wonder, too, if putting the fridge there would make the kitchen feel more closed off. I know I couldn't see into the living room quite as well because the fridge is so deep, and landing space for the fridge would be more in my work space. My thought with the counter beside the fridge was to serve as a drink station and place for guests kind of out of my way....See MoreMy Craftsman-Influenced Midcentury Modern Kitchen Addition
Comments (40)New fridge came. Much drama getting water connected. Got to actually practice a lot of Spanish, though, which is cool. The previous fridge didn't have a working ice maker, and LOTS of plumbing work had been done in the house during this time. I knew better but didn't insist on flushing the line before connecting. Once the water wouldn't flow, I eventually convinced installer to flush first the line from the wall and then the length of tubing. By then it was too late! Fridge was stopped up internally. Installer was flummoxed. I cranked up the PSI from the well and kept washing the filter. Third wash worked. Kicking butt and taking names! The previous fridge had leaked for a year. Only a small ridge of Pergo was damaged at all. You have to get down on the floor to notice it n I didn't bother to clean it up after the first month, either. Whatever the original owners first installed is, sadly, long gone. New fridge is SO much easier to see things in. I hope we will have addressed most of my husband's habit of opening two gallons of milk at the same time and shoving food in the back and abandoning it. I can put four gallons on the door--key for me. (Used to be zero.) Even with that, I can fit almost all of the door stuff in the rest of the door containers. This is a bad time of the week to show how much it holds because I've cooked all the produce--and we have eaten down the fridge a lot. Still, I can stack the Rubbermaid Premeir 9 cup containers 2 deep on the edges--also important. Without a custom depth future fridge cabinet, I would hate this fridge. It is a MONSTER. But because I can do custom depth, I love it. No other place for cleaning supplies. Open.... Drama!...See Moregardenamy
