How much does it cost to cut the dead fronds of a palm tree?
Comments (3)That's cause a lot of people here in California are morons/untrained gardners. They chop off green fronds leaving the poor palm looking squalid and sick.... Very common thing to do in socal to queens, and all fan palms...they look really terrible and makes them grow abnormal. There are so many queen palms with one or two fronds and it looks so bad and unnatural.... Meanwhile you go to Hawaii and the queen palms there are in full glory with huge green crowns....See MoreGranite Fab/Install, how much cutting to allow in the house?
Comments (6)Things are getting close to install. The owner wrote up our contract including no "cutting, drilling, sanding" in my home. Fabricator stops by to measure and tells me, "the owner is a nice guy, but he doesn't have a clue...I always cut the cooktop inside, and drill for faucets." Otherwise he claims its my responsibility if it breaks in my driveway if they were to finish cutting it there. I thought things would be getting easier by now, less stressful at least....See MoreHow much does it cost to remodel a kitchen?
Comments (26)You need to know the scope of the remodel. Are you: adding on $100K+/-, depending upon how much you are adding and how complicated the addition is moving walls and changing window locations or sizes $60K+ (unless it interferes with a second story in which case it would be more expensive) not touching the size or location of the windows walls or doors, although you may replace the windows and doors, changing cabinets, counter and gloors $30K + using low end cabinets, better cabinets moves you closer to $45K, or refacing cabinets, adding new floor and countertop and not moving any utlity outlets $15K. Do you have the electric outlets every four feet? If not you may need a new electric panel, add $3K.... The cost of new appliances you can estimate. If your kitchen is older you need to add the cost of asbestos and lead paint abatement to your demolition expense. One thing I would not bother with as a DIYer, even though it's the easiest thing to do, is the demolition and haulaway. I'd much rather pay somebody to do that really filthy job. If you are a really talented DIYer selfer, you may be able to reduce your costs to just the material costs (plus plumbing and electric work as most DIYers don't know how to do that) and you could even begin shopping for new to you windows, doors and cabinets and other materials on craigslist and reduce your material costs further....See MoreHow much does tree removal cost?
Comments (23)When we took down giant silver maple in back yard, a guy worked with me all through that winter, whenever he could make it. This was a huge tree-the largest silver maple in a city full of silver maples......and we worked on that thing for months. I only paid the guy $1500, since I also was doing the work, but if you saw this tree, you would realize what a bargain this was. We also blocked up and split 100% of that wood! I had a pile of split firewood that was about 30' by 30' and rose up to our second-floor windows! We took the big rounds from the trunk and ran the big saw in a ripping fashion, just to get these huge chunks down to a size where we could handle them and split them. Truly amazing bit of work. This represents just about the most difficult tree removal possible; back yard, wires, garages, houses, lots of stuff in the way. Yet we got it done and for not too awful much money....See Morevrjames
