Which laminate countertops to go with feature quartzite countertop?
Comments (8)We are still waiting for the sink we ordered, unfortunately (one that we found thanks to the people on this forum) :-( I totally understand that the splurge comment. If we were doing everything at once we wouldn't be able to do this, but this project has been in the works for many years! I told my husband that it has to completed this year, or else, lol. You will love your beautiful piece of Fusion no matter what you decide. Bye the way, we have been living with a mix of real stone and Formica for several years, and no one has ever noticed or commented on it....See MoreAny advice on counter tops? Quartzite vs marble.....
Comments (8)Has anyone seen Mont Blanc quartzite used in a kitchen? I saw some slabs and they were quite lovely, but the veins were a bit more linear than I would like. (Yes, I am extremely fussy!) Taj Mahal quartzite varies immensely in tome and colour. It is difficult to find a very light one with delicate markings The thing that concern's me about marble in a kitchen vs in a bathroom, is that unless some people have strange habits, acidic liquids such as lemon, vinegar, tomato sauce, pickles or red wine usually don't end up on bathroom counter tops, but any of those will etch marble very quickly....See Morestaining on new quartzite counters
Comments (28)kris G: I hear you. I continue to learn to live with to try and enjoy my stone. Even do my best to accept the stains (husband just recently left something clear but oil based on and stained-I used acetone and it did lift some. But eek!! ). We now use silicone mats under everything. And I only plate meals at the table now. But, even as careful as I am, and quick as I am to clean if something drips, it still can stain/leave a Mark (ie transferring raw bacon to oven pan, liquid dripped, I immediately wiped and it was set). I know no one would notice but it’s hard that I do. I try to no longer be hyper vigilant about it, but, my kitchen has never been clean like this! Haha. Sorry and hopefully you can find a good sealant and some grace...See MoreSink cut outs in new quartzite counters
Comments (8)@User, The manufacturer suggests a 1/8" negative reveal. I had the same model sinks in my previous house and the zero reveal worked perfectly. The accessories are designed to sit on the counter and not the rim. These are Julien sinks. A positive reveal would have the accessories not fitting right. I'll follow the manufacturer instructions and my previous experience with this exact product. Wish the installer had! My question is about enlarging a sink cut out once the slab is in place....See MoreLily Spider
