Blum Servo Drive for trash or other solution
Comments (2)Ours is just in a standard 18" base cabinet. It isn't hooked up as the electrical was just installed on Friday, and I've been sick this weekend, but we ordered RTA cabinets through Barker, and there's nothing particularly odd or anything about the cabinet with the servo drive. We do have a very unobtrusive finger pull for when the power is out and a plate that reads PUSH for most other days. The servo drive comes with a template for Blum tandem box or wooden box drawers. Apparently, you could operate several drawers off the single driver, but we just have the trash can with the drive....See Morecost of servo-drive for trash pull out
Comments (3)After seeing the other post about these, I want one too!!! Assuming it works as well as the video depicts, it may be one of my favorite investments in the kitchen. That is, unless my cats can figure out how to open it. If it's that easy I may have to nix it. My worry isn't if they open it, my worry is one of them getting in and then having the other one close them in it when I'm not here. I was thinking of it for trash and an undercounter drawer with all the sponges, soaps etc. Those are the two drawers that get the gunkiest...See MoreWhere is your trash/recycling/compost?
Comments (10)Oh, wi-sailorgirl, do whatever you can to get a separate trash pull-out! I thought the same thing, that I couldn't spare any cab space in my 15 x 8 galley. But then, just a few weeks before construction was to start, DH nudged me away from the sink, as was his wont, so he could throw out something. I suddenly realized that a small trash pull-out next to the sink would be much cheaper than the cost of a defense attorney after I beaned him with the skillet I was washing. The new cabs provide so much more storage space that I don't miss the space in the 15" cab that houses the pull-out. It's possible that under the sink is your only option, but it's worth it to consider every possibility. I've told this story before, but there is now a postscript. I thought the pull-out would eliminate the nudging, but then DH nudged me when he needed to get a replacement garbage bag out from under the sink. It only took one time, and I moved the box of bags into the trash pull-out. I am happy that DH puts out the garbage when he finds it full and replaces the bag. But I also try to prevent situations where I am tempted to hit him over the head with a skillet....See MoreServo-Drive: are they all the same?
Comments (17)Did you read the link that Homepro01 provided? It tells you what you need. It looks like you are trying to get the opening device without purchasing the corresponding trash bin. You can try going that route and then purchasing the trash bin later on if you find you need it. We thought we could get away with the original soft close bin but it didn't work for us so we bought the corresponding trash bin. I found that going directly to the local Blum/Reva-shelf distributor was the best way to purchase. They will work directly with the homeowner to make sure you get the parts you need and answer all questions. We ordered a lot of materials on line but not this....See Morescrappy25
