Brushed Nickle or Oil Rubbed Bronze faucets etc????

I am having all Stainless Steel appliances and sinks. I am going to have ORB knobs and bronze light above island.

The backsplash behind my range will have an ORB pot filler and some ORB in the design of the backsplash.

Do you think I should stick with ORB faucets, hot/cold dispenser on my main sink and prep sink, or go with brushed nickle. I am just really ocnfused and I have to make up my mind right away. I think everything will going into the kitchen in the next couple weeks. I know its a matter of preference, but your honest opinions would help me make a decision.

I think that it would be nice to have the ORB faucet. Especially since your pot filler is that finish. Makes sense to me to have them the same.

I had similar quandry although no ORB in backsplash/pot filler etc. I personally am not a fan of the ORB sink/faucet, so will do brushed nickel. From what I heard this technically can be considered matching the SS appliances.

I have a price pfister oil-rubbed bronze finish faucet in my powder room and the faucet opening where the water comes out has discolored to a green color ... its been in there for about 5 years and have noticed it for the last year or so.

I was researching this a few days ago as well, and found some articles that said this is not considered wrong from a design standpoint. It sounded like it was more acceptable to mix finishes now, and some people prefer the not so matchy look anyway. I was curious because I have 3 rooms that flow together and I have brushed nickel in two rooms. In the 3rd room I wanted to put in a ORB light. I think it will work fine. I actually just replaced the windows with ORB double curtain rods (and these flow through two rooms). I also read that if you can add at least a couple pieces in that particular finish it will look even better.... so I felt having the curtain rods and the light would make it work, but I think even without, it's ok. Buy what you love, that is most important!

I'm thinking of doing that in my MBR. The lighting in the BR and fixtures in the bath are ORB, so I want to change the door HW from builder brass to ORB, but keep the knob on the hallway side the brass to match other doors. What I plan on doing (since all the doors except the BR door to the hall and the linen closet door are pockets) is to buy a privacy set in ORB and only change the BR side (with the little push-button) and the bathroom side of the closet (doesn't bother me that knob will have tiny hole) and leave the inside of the closet brass. Another thing you can do (might be cheaper) is to just buy "dummy" knobs, though you can't get those in privacy, only closet type. Then just leave the working parts in place, pop off the knob and trim ring and replace them with the dummy trim.

I think either would go.. but looks like I'm ODD Man Out...I vote the oil rubbed bronze... I think the decision should be ..Whichever faucet you really love in whichever finish...

I think either will work, but what kind of sink will you have? If it's ss, I think the brushed nickle will look better; if you have a dark silgranite or soapstone sink, ORB will be better. If you have white/off white porcelain sink, I think I would go with BN although ORB would be OK because of ORB pot filler. HTH!

I was told by a saleslady at my high end plumbing showroom not to mix faucet finishes. I think if you start paging throught kitchen idea books you will see that the finishes on multiple faucets in a kitchen are all the same.
It is ok to mix in finishes on other items such as hardware and lighting, but you should have something to unify the different finishes.
