I have had the Miele Speed oven and 30 inch Master Chef for about 10 months. Love the Speed Oven and have had the temperature problem with the Master Chef. It took two visits from the repair folks and replacement of a $500 mother board (covered by the warranty), but the Master Chef oven seems to be working well now. Actual oven temperature is now spot on to the setting (before it was 30-50 degree low). While the oven was clearly defective, I do note that there is a learning process to using the Miele. Coming from a gas oven with bake and broil as the only options, it took me a while to realize and learn that "bake" on the Miele only really works for 375 and lower applications and the "surround" setting is used for higher temperatures. If looks are important, I also note that the two ovens are beautiful together.

I've had the Same Elux Speed oven for over 4 years now. About 6 months ago, the handle did start coming loose. I downloaded the parts manual for it and I saw the 2 screws were under the front cover. I was gonna fix it but DW says "You have nuff to do--call somebody to fix it" So I did, it took the guy 15 minutes at the most to remove the front cover, He added lock washers to the screws and it has been fine since then. This is our most used appliance, we even used it to boil water, etc when our "Fancy cooktop" took a dump and went to the dump (not an Elux). I use it to make toast, bake potatoes, roast turkey legs, as well as the usual MW duties. We have been very happy with it, and as far as "we're" concerned, there is not a better one made. Yep the Miele will broil and the elux won't but we have never even used our full size Elux Oven for Broiling or its predassor either. We do our grilling & broiling outside, and as some folks have mentioned, You just can't beat one of those infrared broilers and we have that on our BBQ. We did see a complaint about popping corn in a speed oven, I'm not sure it was an Elux speed oven, the problem was resolved (wasn't the speed oven as I recall)--but I can't find that post for ya now. I don't ever recall seeing a problem with the Elux Speed Oven, other than your post so I would not be too hasty to "write it off". So, while I respect my "Dear Desert Friend's" advice, not sure I would "Throw in the towel" just cause He says so! Gary

I'd be interested too but haven't heard anything. What I have learned is that AJ Madison consistently posts new E'lux products well before E'Lux posts them on thier own web site. The E'lux induction slide-in, the E'lux combo wall ovens to name the most recent. So I'd keep an eye out there. The E'lux speed oven is the same basic design they have used for several years. Some cosmetic updates along the way. I'd like to see a 27" speedoven, or a speedoven in the non-Icon range. A few months ago I e-mailed E'lux and asked if they were planning a Speedoven in the 'Ripa' line and they said no. You can e-mail them and ask them yourself. Not sure if they would spill the beans to you or not if they really do have a new product coming. Let us know what you find out.

A similar situation with no oven Thanksgiving through Christmas with brand new range and oven. This was after 7 months of tinkering and (non)fixing. It was a different brand and eventually they bought them back as they never could get them to work. It was one of the most frustrating things. My sympathies are with you.
