Paint colour (pics) - golden yellow with apricot undertones??
Comments (16)We have BM Straw in our kitchen/dining/mud rooms and it also has an apricot undertone. I like the color quite a bit during the day, but not so much at night - at night it almost looks like a dirty color and is considerably stronger looking. We used Ellen Kennon's Honeysuckle in a previous home and I think that had somewhat apicot undertones, too, and I liked it in all light levels. I am currently working with a designer to help revamp and update our dining room as I just can't do it myself. It was already a struggle, but my job has me traveling a ton now and I just don't have time for all the thinking and research that would need to go into it! Anyway, she tells me that the yellow is dated and has suggested I go with a more up-to-date color. What do all you yellow people think about that? I have mixed feelings - I like yellow and find it sunny and cheerful. I feel like I need it to perk up my space in the woods, where we have natural low light. At the same time, I've never been completely sold on Straw given its odd color at night, and I guess I'm ready for a change. I am not one to realy follow trends, but I also don't want to have a house where everyone walks in and says, WOW, this is so 1996 or whatever year yellow was so popular. (I know, I know, I'm supposed to decorate with what *I* like, not for people who come to our home.)...See MoreIn a jam...need nuetral tan paint w/ yellow undertones...I think!
Comments (30)I second Ivoire. It is a warm cream that tends to yellow, but not too much. I have Blonde in my dining room and I'm crazy not about it. It doesn't tend to show green in my house. It tends more to orange because that room gets a lot of sun. Whole Wheat probably would have been a better choice for that bright room. But the Ivoire on the same strip as Blonde is not like Blonde at all, IMO. I have Ivoire in my living room which has an eastern exposure and a porch overhang. It really warms up a dark space. I have Bel. Buff as well in a bedroom and it's very nice, but more neutral beige than Ivoire is....See MoreNeed white paint without pink undertones
Comments (7)I had that problem with the wallpaper in the stairway and upper hall. The "beige" background was really a dirty pink toned and so was matching paint. Since I wasn't up for stripping that paper, I found that Behr Navajo White (on all the woodwork and ceiling) really neutralized the pink. The Navajo White might be stronger color than you want; Behr Cottage White is the same but less strong. Like BM Simply White, they are yellow based....See MoreNeutral beige paint/no yellow undertone.
Comments (1)No beige is neutral…all have undertones…but, my best suggestion for you to try would be B.M. Etiquette AF-50 ....See Moredrybean
