We have the standard accessories that are provided with our 5' Galley sink (2 deck/cutting boards, two colanders, two mixing bowls, two platforms with round holes that can be used for colander or mixing bowl, one drying rack). All of them can be set level with the counter or turned 90 degrees and fits the lower rim that makes them about 3/4" below the counter level (all Galley accessories have this 90 degree feature which is unique and makes it more useful than some of the other brands.) Because you can put the drying rack or the cutting board/decks on the upper level, you can easily slide the wash basin or other bowl accessories underneath them on the lower ledge. In addition we purchased the wash and serve set and the full bottom grate for both our Galley sinks. We use the wash basin every day and it substitutes as an ice bucket when we entertain and turn our sink into a wet bar. Personally after using this setup, we do not feel we would ever need the drydock with our sinks because the full bottom grate provides another level of drying with the upper drying rack. The full bottom grate is a must for us and extremely useful for drying larger pots and pans, vegetables and provides a much larger drying surface than the drydock would. We would also highly recommend the wash and serve set. We did not purchase any other accessories and so far have found this set up to be perfect. We looked at other fixtures since the Galley Tap fixtures were more expensive than Kohler and some other brands, but are very happy that we chose the Galley Taps because the spigots are specially designed to center on the sink and the soap dispenser is long enough to put soap far enough away from the side of the sink to reach the wash basin easily. The hot/cold tap also extends nicely away from the side of the sink so that we are able to fill pitchers and teapots as well as single serving mugs and glasses easily. The Galley Taps were well worth the investment and look beautiful -- easy to keep clean and shiny. (We have two faucets in our 5' sink and one in our 4' sink in our vacation home.)

I have drawers only, including under the sink. It was simple to do. Nobody in this forum thought so, though, at the time when I asked about it, about a year ago. The only comments I got were like "how would you deal with the sink?" I just made the drawer deep enough to go under the sink. I also made the drain plumbing compact enough to go through the drawer back panel instead of the drawer floor panel. So, I have a complete drawer under the sink. After I started enquiring about doing this, Ikea came out with this option in their bathrooms. All drawers, complete drawers, and nothing but drawers. With compact plumbing that doesn't interfere with the drawers. Thousands of similar installs can be found once you know where to go looking and what to call that kind of drain plumbing. In this forum, at that time, nobody thought the drain could go horizontally through the drawer's back panel. All of this is to say that if any one person in your entourage is negative about the idea of drawers under a sink, you might have a long uphill climb ahead of you. Also, in this forum, there are so many people who've built door-based solutions under their sinks, that (my prediction) they have too much invested in their way of doing things, and not enough neutrality to see that another way of doing it will also work, and maybe even work better. They won't let that thought occur to them, as they won't want to feel the ensuing jealousy. My prediction. If I may be so bold as to project the series of reactions. Hope this helps.

Hi Ainelane, since the Stages comes with the bottom rack , and it is undermounted, I don't think that my pots have ever hit the metal. I just went and knocked on the metal and it sounds like a good solid metal, much different than my cheapie sink in m basement kitchenette.I don't see any insulation when I look from below. Curious, I looked it up the Stages listing and they are touting "SilentShield sound-absorption technology offers quieter performance", I honestly have no idea what that means other than that it seems to be on a lot of the Kohler sinks. Perhaps they have engineered something into the metal design? The inside deeper part measures 31 inches across. It is 9.5 inches deep and with the undermount it is deep enough that there is very little outside splashing when cleaning pots and pans. I LOVE my peninsula sink for all the reasons you mentioned. The two matching pull down faucets are like the Chinese lions that flank the front doors in China, they seem to stand at attention in the sight line. When I have company, I put the small drainer into the sink and pull out the heavy Kohler cutting board over it . Although too heavy to be regularly used, that board is a thing of beauty and creates more counter space. The white containers can also come out as needed to hold items for a buffet. pinkpanther5, I remember looking for cheaper alternatives and the Ticor 4000 for $400 would give you a similar design for the larger part of the sink (no ledge), but the drain is in the back center of the Ticor and does not allow the large pullout trash that the Stages does with its off-center drain. I think they are hard to find but they are still out there. That is worth considering if price is an issue, just add one or two integral drainboards to your countertop and you have most of the functions of the Stages sink.

RIch The short answer to your original question is yes - and do it for a LOT less than the suggestions so far. You could go to a corner sink. We did that in a very very tiny kitchen in a cabinet we had - tiny as in a u-shape with the sides of the U being 80 inches and the base of the U being 114 inches. Front edges of the counter runs (and appliances) were 66 - 66 -66. Other option is to modify the cabinets in the corner by doing an angle =draw a line from the far corner on the left cabinet straight across to the far corner of the right to get the idea. The corner goes away and it is a slightly angled line with 2 slight angles were it rejoins the main counters. You need a hypotenuse from side to side of 33 ". The sink goes in the angle area. Problem is it would cost a far amount of cabinet space.
