Which faucet did you end up picking? I've seen pics of plenty of kitchens that have different faucets for each sink. Sometimes I don't even notice that the faucets are different until I read the material details and notice two faucets listed. I plan on having mine match, but that's just me. Will the sinks be the same material?

How far apart are the sinks/faucets? If they're on opposite sides of the room and have similar finishes, I doubt anyone would notice.

If the brushed nickel has a gold tint to it (some manufacturer's nickel finishes do), then I would probably go w/the stainless...assuming the "ultra steel" is a silver color.

I picked this one for the island prep sink, which is diagnally across from the main sink (about 6 ft away). I didn't want a tall faucet there since there is seating across from it... I am soooooo burnt out. I am going to drag my dh to the store tomorrow to see some faucets in person, hoping that will help. I am a little worried about brushed nickel having a gold tint, I definitely do not want that. Ultra steel is a silver color close to stainless from what I can tell (there is not a good image online).

My brushed nickel Kohler faucets do not appear to have a gold tint...if that helps.

thanks buehl, it is helpful to know. I do like the vinnata, but it is too big for island (even the bar size one)... I really wish there was only 10 faucets to choose from. Enough it enough. Granted, it is very much a luxury to be able to spend so much time selecting a kitchen faucet! Shouldn't be stressful, but it is.

I have the Kohler Fairfax pullout at my Prep Sink...the Vinnata is at my Cleanup Sink. Both are in brushed nickel.

Buehl- how do you like the fairfax? Does it swivel too? I didn't see that one, it is the style I am looking for. Today I am going to hopefully see some of the finishes in person..

Yes, it does swivel.

Oh, forgot to tell you...yes, I do like it. It's easy to use and when I'm filling a pot I leave the pot on the counter and just pull out the faucet head and hang it on the pot edge. I then let it fill...hands free!

This is especially handy when I'm filling the 5-gallon bucket for the fish tank. Once that bucket is full, it's too heavy (for me) to lift it out of a sink and then over. It's so much easier to put the bucket on the counter, fill it, and then just ease it off the counter.

I have a confession to make, I think I actually like the pull out functionality better than the pull down...I know, it flies in the face of the trend and opinions of most people here...

Don't get me wrong, I really like my Vinnata and it works great for the Cleanup Sink; but for prepping, I find the pull out more useful and easier to use.

I'm glad I have one of each...I have all the pros of each and those pros counteract the negatives of the other.

I am fine with pullouts as long as they aren't to low and allow enough clearance for pots and things to go into the sink. I have a pulldown at both sinks now though -- DH couldn't agree to any of the pullouts. Mine are different brands and finishes, but they are also mounted in different counter materials and on top of different cabinet finishes. If they had been all the same materials, I would have kept the faucet finishes the same or more similar.

We went to the faucet store and the salesperson there directed us to the Rohl Country series of faucets. My dh likes them so I think we will just settle on it. They are both lower profile, which will work well for us. I too like the pull out in theory (haven't used either in practice) but the pull out on these anyways, gives you of a handle to hold.
