Why should they match if they're doing different jobs? They shouldn't clash, because you want your kitchen to be nice looking along with the function, but as long as it makes sense, it's fine.

That said, I would want the arc more for prep if it were me choosing...

Which Grohe pull-out are you planning on using? There are a number of them.
Your sinks are very different and I think that if the tap matches the sink itself, if they are both of the same finish and have similar designs elements (shape of the arc, or similar shape of the tap or similar shape to the base) then you can choose different taps. The other thing to consider is how close will the sinks/taps be to each other. You want the elements to flow if they can be seen together - they don;t have to match but should complement one another.

No need to match. I've seen plenty of kitchens here with different faucets. Mine will both be the Hansgrohe High Arc that I fell in love with almost two years ago. It will serve the cleanup area just as well as the island prep area in my book. There's not another faucet in my budget that I like nearly as well. If there was, I wouldn't hesitate to mix them up.

I agree with Plllog about the function of a pulldown for prep.

I have a high-arc, pull-down faucet on my main/cleanup sink and a pull-out faucet on my prep sink...and I think they look just fine together. I did match the finishes and the general look (traditional), but they're different models...

Thanks! I worry that the arc will look high and stick out of the island, like a candy cane decoration in the front yard, so i didn't want to use it for there. OTOH, the two are essentially different shapes, pull-down vs pull-out, and might look funny, as you can see them together in the kitchen. Function-wise, i'll prob. end up using the island sink for clean-up, since i'm more likely to baby the farmhouse sink. So at this point, its more of a design issue, and I'm honestly terrible at that. I wish i had a pix of the two types in the same kitchen...of course, maybe one doesn't exist because people think its a bad design idea?

And those pullouts that are angled up should be fine for prep. I was thinking more of the level, low profile ones...

We're using the Hansgrohe Metro (bought at Costco last summer) on our main sink (Ticor apron) and the Jado Coriander on our prep sink, which will be (I think) an 18" stainless round undercount sink. To me, as long as the finish is in the same family I don't feel the need to match or even coordinate from the same line.

Brickeyee, hehehehe..at this point, I'd almost trade jail for the h*ll I'm going through with this build! I'm so bad with design and color that my ceilings will be Swiss Coffee, and my walls will be oyster white...everywhere! Any of those colors sound familiar to anyone? :)
