Grohe Ladylux faucets, main sinks, prep sink
Comments (2)We got the Grohe Ladylux Pro for both sinks because the Ladylux Cafe didn't have a locking spray. Have they changed that? I don't find splashing to be a problem on the small side of our main sink which is 8" deep. I don't think you need to go with the same shape for both sinks though we did. The shape only stands out when one is right next to the sink since it's just a horizontal hole on the counter that is viewed mostly edge on at any distance....See MoreHow bad is it for prep and main sink faucets to NOT match?
Comments (10)Thanks! I worry that the arc will look high and stick out of the island, like a candy cane decoration in the front yard, so i didn't want to use it for there. OTOH, the two are essentially different shapes, pull-down vs pull-out, and might look funny, as you can see them together in the kitchen. Function-wise, i'll prob. end up using the island sink for clean-up, since i'm more likely to baby the farmhouse sink. So at this point, its more of a design issue, and I'm honestly terrible at that. I wish i had a pix of the two types in the same kitchen...of course, maybe one doesn't exist because people think its a bad design idea? Here is a link that might be useful: Grohe pull-out faucet...See MoreHansgrohe prep faucet in main sink?
Comments (2)Hansgrohe makes good faucets. Huge faucets. :) As far as prep goes, remember the faucets we all grew up with? Low, tiny, worked for mom just fine. I'd get the measurements off the web and go stand at my current sink with a tape measure and figure out where it's different from what I have and if it would bee good different, bad different, or indifferent different....See Moreprep faucet for main sink -- question about reach
Comments (14)We bought a Kohler Vinnata 10 years ago when we remodeled our home. There is a full size version and a prep sink version. We opted for the smaller prep sink because like you, I thought the full size version was way too big. Our sink is a Shaw's farmhouse. I know its 30" long, but I can't remember how wide it is....18" sounds about right. It's a plenty big sink. Anyway, I wish we had gone with the bigger faucet. Our problem has been the amount of splashing behind the sink, specifically around the faucet itself. There is always water pooled there and I attribute it to the fact the faucet doesn't reach far enough into the sink. I will say other than the splashing problem, the faucet has been great. Water flow is fine and the hose reaches everywhere it needs to. We are building a new house now and we will definitely be putting in a larger faucet with a deeper reach....See MoreRelated Professionals
