Counter top mix up, turns out for the best!
Comments (25)Thank you everyone, you are all the best! I Love Love them so much, every time I see the stone I get so excited. My husband thinks its so funny as he thinks its nice to but can't believe how truly excited I am, lol. He's like "It's just rock, I don't see it the way you do!" :) He just grins and shakes his head. Some just dont understand us kitchen obsessed, he he. Firsthouse, thank you for all your wonderful compliments. I am so ready to move in as its been a very long and extremely slow build, we are not in till the end of next month but things are all scheduled to move quickly now. Hardwood is being installed tomorrow, yay!!! Hi Lynn, The edge is I believe a regular ogee edge on the island, the fabricators just used numbers for their edge selections, it was #250. The perimeter edge is an eased edge. I read some where maybe on GW that sometimes if you do a fancier edge on the island, most people won't notice it's not done on all the counters in the kitchen. I also like the simpleness of it on the perimeters. Romy, Yes, we have backsplash! I thought long and hard and changed my mind so so many times. Backsplashes are the hardest thing to choose, aren't they? Lol In the end, we just went with simple. My husband the last time at the tile place just pointed to the tile and said he liked it, I was like "Really!?!?!" It was the first tile I considered months and months ago. I looked back at all my inspiration pics on Houzz and then noticed 90% had that same tile in them. White 3x6 beveled subway. I'm going to go in the next couple of days again to see the hardwood and by then the backsplash will be grouted, I'll take more pics. :)...See MoreMaster bath and counter top
Comments (19)thx nancy! that gives me positive hope - not just my 'wishful' hope. he was fine when we were doing the dirt pad out front - or seemed to be his regular 'ol self! we noticed a few changes when we moved his pen (now called 'man cave'). I attributed that to several things - the change, he was then away from his sister on her trips out to potty (they were within ft of each other before) and I was out there each time and walked over to give him hugs etc. and he was penned in so I thought he just didn't like that! after about 2 wks I started cabling him again on the outer side of the man cave - he could go in...or out. I did that for several hrs in the evening hoping it would help him adjust. and of course, the heat here now! ugh! and he took to flipping his pool over so water would go all over the ground and then he'd lie in the mud. I didn't like that (he'd never been so dirty!) but figured if it cooled him I'd deal with it. prior to the pen change he was as active and ornery as he was when he was a pup. my sister said the same thing last night - that she didn't think he was ever gonna age and then boom! he is acting more alert today. not getting up tho. he did try to get up and bark at a worker - it was a sad sounding bark! I'm gonna spend some time tonight raking some of the stones in there over to the sides so he doesn't have to sleep on a bed of stone....See MoreSpectrum Quartz counter tops
Comments (149)We ended up going with Pristine, and it's absolutely beautiful. It's been a year, and it looks brand new, no stains or issues. I love it even more than expected. My husband is thrilled and the whole room looks elevated. We used BM Simply White for the cabinets and SuperCore oak natural for the floors. Check my profile for pics in progress (old floors, tho). We've chosen Satori venatino marble subway tiles for the backslash and all these whites are compatible-- no issues with warm/cool undertones fighting. I'll be sealing the marble on all 6 sizes via a dunk in 511 sealer. Can't wait to see it finished-- the marble could've been risky against a marble-look quartz, but it looks absolutely perfect and gorgeous together....See MoreMismatched Kitchen Counter-tops
Comments (35)Heatheron40, very nice. I asked a question about doing a tile countertop in our guest cabin recently as I feel like the look would complement the cabin aesthetic. Also I’m dying to learn to tile and thought it would be a fun place to start as it’s not an everyday space and I could take my time. Most of the responses were against. Basically stating the grout would make me crazy. The guy at the said what you’re saying I think, he said that modern grouts are more resistant to staining and such, and also to go with a tinted grout of some sort. I love your use of pattern to give it interest and intention!...See Moreerikanh
