I think that's lovely if you like it.

But for those of us with asthma or allergies, scented candles and potpourri and perfumes of any kind can make the holiday season a mine field. Natural scents of cinnamon bark and oranges and cedar are usually not too troublesome, but most scented products use chemicals that mimic the real thing, and those can shut us right down.

Think about who will be in your house, and use those things with caution.

What a cool thing :) I just ordered ten packages of cinnamon :p I have a big house so they won't be all on one tree LOL but I do love the spices of christmas!!

I wish they had them in their old clove scent. They used to do a clove scent around the holidays and it's been discontinued so I have a local candlemaker do them for me. They're so yummy!

I'll try them, they're a lot cheaper than Thyme's frasier fir which seems to go up every year.

I bought another pack today for next year. This morning I put a second icicle on the tree and boy, the scent is strong with just the two. But then again I just thought of something. It says they only last about two weeks once exposed to air. I doubt my pack will smell much if at all by next December unless the wrapping is extra good. oops.

Bronwynsmom is right! I would be so tempted to order them in the balsam! I love the scent of pine trees, but because I'm allergic to evergreen trees, I can only have the artificial ones in our home. I'm technically only allergic to their pollen in the Spring and touching them anytime. We live here in the mountains of New Mexico, in the middle of thousands of acres of pinon pine and juniper trees, but I don't have any problems until the pollen hits in the Spring. Last week I bought a real mixed evergreen wreath, swag and candle ring for here in the house and they don't bother me at all (I don't touch them, though). But . . . a couple of days ago I bought one of Glade's Scented Plug-ins in Simmering Spruce. I plugged it in and within the hour I was having some breathing problems(coughing and shortness of breath). This was definitely caused by the plug-in. I unplugged it and it took about 6 hours for my breathing to get back to normal. That thing is going back tomorrow! So if, like me, you or a loved one has allergies to pines, be very careful about the pine scented oils, candles, potpourri and whatever. As Bronwynsmom said, "most scented products use chemicals that mimic the real thing, and those can shut us right down". I learned the hard way, but I realize that it could have been much worse.
