Comments (151)Haaa aah jodik I was going to ask that question myself. But here's an answer I wanted to give you. I've done hydroponics from the big to the small and it's another way to intelligence our way to the same pollution of the water ways. Something like clean coal. If you want to think of it as close to aeroponics because the roots are in an enviroment where there's moisture is in the air under pressure (slight but enough) where roots hang covered in running oxgen enriched water. That pressure aids in oxygen transfer into the plant. It's a growth chamber in a bottle. Scienits are doing this in the lab right now. i've done it with just two recycled plastic bottles one on top of the other. That's not a brag, I'm just lucky when it comes to this, I just noticed something. I'm lucky like that. But here and on Photobucket I have what someone once slightingly a "history" here. This idea is free. You don't need to send me anything. there's even pictures of every step, over what a five year period. And those are only the "B" pictures. the only thing i'm looking for is a chance to trade for seeds I don't have. Buzzsaw you have no idea what a daily vitamin and a bottle of piss can do for a plant....See MorePlastic Bottle Bugs
Comments (7)I don't have experience with bottles but friend gives me 5 gal white buckets & smaller ones that held ice cream & they do break down in couple of yrs. But in shade might be OK. I had some white pvc sprinkler pipe I stuck up in garage- gets really hot in there- took some down to do a repair & it split & broke in pieces. It was only 2 yrs old so it lasts for many yrs in ground but not in hot area even tho roof over it. Just experiment if no one has the answers. Comments (6)I have about a dozen, all planted in the ground after the holiday bloom. They would bloom about the end of May/first part of June. Nothing special needed. Last summer I wanted something else in that space, so I potted them all up in one gallon nursery pots and put them in my cold frame. They all bloomed about the same time in June. I have now replanted them in a more protected part of the garden. Some I have had for ten years, and have harvested for more bulbs. Al...See Moretacky outdoor Christmas decorations.
Comments (19)I enjoy seeing anyone's decorations--from the sophisticated to the truly tacky. We appreciate that someone took the time, spent the money to do something to brighten their house for the season. However, here's my idea of Christmas tacky. A house had a lawn full of inflatables--loads of them. BUT they apparently weren't paying their electric bill. DH (a utility company collector) had to go out to the house and cut the service. Causing all the figures (which were inflated during the day) to whoosh to their demise. He actually got a kick out of seeing it, I'm afraid. Still, I do think it's pretty tacky to spend money on decorations when you can't afford to provide your family with the necessities of life....See MoreTexas2Step
