One panel or two

I think we have settled on these room darkening ruffled curtains (in white) for dd's room. She has two windows. Both are 34 1/2 inches wide nd 52 inches tall, measurements are to the inside of the trim. The windows are side by side with about three feet of wall space between them.

The panels are 44 inches wide and 60 inches long.

I was originally thinking two panels per window. But then I started wondering if one would look just as good. I would pull them open to opposite sides of the windows so the look would be sort of like treating the two windows as one unit. And the curtains themselves are pretty full looking because of the ruffles. But maybe it would still look too skimpy or otherwise odd to have just one panel per window?

Thanks for any thoughts!
