Custom panel dishwasher, one piece or two?

We had a problem with our dishwasher panel and the cabinet maker is replacing it. The one we have is one piece, but since they are replacing it I have the opportunity to switch to a two piece panel. What do you all think, stick with one piece or switch to two? If I do switch to two pieces, should I add an extra "dummy" piece of hardware so it looks like the other cabinetry. The photo I am posting below shows the dishwasher to the right of the sink and left of the doorway. Obviously the kitchen isn't finished, but it gives you an idea.

I think the fake top drawer is the way to go. And yes...use hardware on both the fake drawer AND door. Mine isn't frameless...but here is mine right of the sink.

The Kitchen Place, so yours is actually three pieces. In my kitchen, I have 2 cabinets with 3 drawers, 1 cabinet has 4 drawers, 2 cabinets (the sink base and 1 other) have a drawer and then 2 doors, and narrow tray-storage cabinet has 1 drawer and 1 door. So nothing has the look of 1 drawer and then one wide door.

I asked that same question of the Toto Customer Service person (1-piece vs. 2-piece) and she said the only difference was personal preference. I was comparing the Guinevere 1-pc to the Carrollton 2-pc -- both are skirted but only the Guinevere is ADA height. So for me it will be the Guinevere which also has the SaniGlos finish and cyclone flush. One word of caution though, check the specifications to make sure your water inlet valve is in the correct place on the wall -- not all Toto toilets take the same placement, and they are definetly different than your plumber is used to doing.

I'm the one who bought the former kitchen display. My dishwasher will be flanked by a 24" 3 drawer bank on the left and the sink cabinet on the right. I will have a curtain instead of doors under the apron sink. At this point I don't know if I have any preference looks wise. That why I wanted to see the real life combos. Thank you so much for posting your pictures. They are a great help. Just seeing the stand alone dishwasher pictures on google doesn't show me how it will look in relation to other cabinets. If I go with the 1 drawer and 2 door combo, I'll just need to buy 1 drawer face. I had a 24" cabinet with this combo, but I used the drawer in my oven cabinet. If I go with the other combos, I have to buy them. I can make my final decision later on in the process, but I'm trying to work up my budget now.

We had a Thermador dishwasher with custom panel at our last house and loved it! We'd open the DW after the cycle to help air-dry the dishes too, and you could see the steam coming off but there were never any warping issues. Maybe it depends on the quality of the panel's wood? It was next to the fridge though, so sometimes we'd bang the slightly ajar door with the fridge door and the alignment became off-kilter (I was able to adjust that on my own with some elbow grease though!) so probably don't place it next to the fridge LOL. In our new house, we are planning to buy a Bosch DW with custom panel. Good luck!

The custom depth part for the latter approach is the counter depth. The counter over my Miele is 28.5 inches, I believe, leaving plenty of room for an American dishwasher. [@wdccruise comment noted.] My Tedd Wood supplied red-birch cabinet-matching panel shows no water damage after a decade of use. It has a SubZero handlebar so wet-hand contact opportunities with the wood are somewhat reduced.

If you do faux panels you'll want to match another cabinet - a 2 panel doesn't seem to do that. You'd need at least a 3. I'd stick with simple so that visitors can recognize it for a dishwasher, or match it, rather than install a new variation.

I'd make it 3 high to match the drawer stack to left of sink, and yes put pulls on all three dummy drawers.

I like it as one piece - very clean looking. I like each door to hint at its function rather than have extra pieces just to match the facade of other doors. I don't dislike the look of the "matching" ones with extra pieces, but for my own personal preference, I prefer a simple DW panel. I think this is a personal preference question.

I did two, because I felt the wider door did not look unnatural in my case. Fake drawer, fake door. Modern slab cabinets like yours.
