How much countertop overhang will you have? How thick and tall is your backspash? This is an undermount sink. You will need a bit over 2.5" from the edge of the sink to the backsplash, more would be better. The cutout in the sink edge is for a single hole faucet, not 3 holes but maybe someone could sand it down a bit without damaging it. If you place the sink towards the front of the cabinet, you would have 3"-4" to place the faucet. The holes are small (5/8") but the trim is larger (2-3/8"). To get it centered so that it looks right but won't strike the backspash depends on the backspash thickness. I think you can do this, but it would be tight. You would need to install the faucet before the countertop is attached to the base. IMHO. YMMV. ETC. PS: you'll need something to hold up that sink.

Thanks so much @Joseph Corlett, LLC, and for replying so quickly too. The Blanco sink we wanted was a regular one bowl sink, not an apron front. Not sure if this would change anything. The picture you posted was great. So when installing a new sink, we would remove the front of the cabinet and the sink would slide out, correct? I found out about sink straps from your posts here after we started the remodel. If I had known before, I would have picked a contractor willing to install with straps. We are a big family and a large sink is important to us. He cannot understand how straps attached to the cabinet are strong enough to hold up the sink. He is not willing to cut into the new cabinet as he says it would weaken the cabinet (see triangular pieces in corners that would have to be removed in picture below). It would also void the warranty, and he has supplied the pre-fab cabinets, so either I find someone else who is willing to, or I get a drop in sink to avoid attaching to the plywood, which is the way I'm leaning now. Do you know of anyone with your expertise with strap installation in Los Angeles? I hope there's a way to install the top mount sink into the quartz where we can do an undermount with straps in the future. Also a side question. We had mold damage which started the kitchen demo. Mold was around the dishwasher cabinetry (dishwasher leak), and also on the plywood subdeck around the sink (we think from weak caulking and holes in grout between granite tiles on countertop). Is there anything that can be done to protect the cabinets from dishwasher leaks? By the time you realize the dishwasher is leaking, the damage is already done. Thank you so much. michael, I think you'll be saving yourself a headache by going a little smaller front-to-back on the sink. My faucet is standard diameter (forget what that is),drilled 2.75" on center back from the sink edge which is also standard. I did go smaller on the prep cabinet width than the manufacturer recommended but I calculated every dimension and knew exactly how much the cabinet sides needed to be routered to accomodate it. Sorry vegetarian, I still haven't done pictures but it's a pretty conventional setup; rectangular sink, single hole faucet centered behind, soap dispenser on the right. Sink is the Elkay 2115, faucet Blanco Classic, KWC Primo soap dispenser. gneegirl, you shouldn't have an issue since with a D sink the faucet is usually mounted at the corner where the sink curves in. You won't be able to mount it behind the sink. You can probably go a little bigger than 16" with a rectangular and be OK. My kitchen is small and I got the same size undermount sink that I had in my old kitchen as a drop in - 15x21. It's big enough to put cookie sheets and 30" wall oven racks flat on the bottom. The undermount does feel smaller than the drop in and I'm a little sorry I didn't go for the 23" Kindred. Dirty dishes go directly into the dishwasher drawers so the only thing in the sink might be pots soaking so size is not a big issue. I have a separate prep sink near the cooktop.

I don't need much room at all for my makeup. Like enduring, I keep all my daily cosmetics in a plastic bin - take it out, use what I need, put it back. However, I also don't need a 24" sink. I'd personally reduce the size of the sink and increase the size of the counter. And a 40" sink - is he bathing in it LOL?
