Peace-rose, it turned out terrific! I am not seeing the clashing that concerns you, and think bluish-grey and brown can play well together. I like the Navajo white walls. White or off-white walls that are enlivened with splashes of color are very 2011! I like the splash of color where the temporary pantry is. It makes me think that a coordinating color for the pantry would be nice. I love the idea of repurposing a Craigs List sideboard or hutch. I also agree with painting the pantry in a coordinating color-- maybe the pumpkin from your pretty fabric, possibly a few shades paler. The window trim I would leave the same color as the walls, and see how it looks once you get your cafe curtains up. You could also place a rug under the dining table. It might be nice to place some painted pottery on top of the cabs to bring in some color. Congratulations, and please post pics when you are done. I am not spending a lot of time on GW these days, but check in from time to time to see how projects progress. So glad I got to see this!

Now it sounds like the plant should go back in the corner and water jug near the TV with some tall branches? OK, I can do that. Before going out and returning anything I wanted to see if you think I could transplant the large fern in my LR in the more formal urn and use the ceramic planter in the FR with this plant (don't know the name). The fern is too large for the FR so the plants would need to be transplanted. I measured and even though the urn looks smaller it is actually the same diameter at the top and is much deeper and the cavity extends down to the base. When I planted the fern earlier this year it had a very small root ball but I felt it needed the larger planter to give it more weight at the base. Here is the location of the fern in my LR though it's been temporarily displaced for the Christmas tree. Ah, holiday rearranging.... The urn would raise the height about 8" +/- which could be a good thing to balance out the weight of the corner curio. What do you think? I also have the wicker basket here too--though the majority on my earlier thread did not like it much.

javiwa, thanks so much for the support. It sounds like you've had a extremely frustrating experience. :( Yes, you're right... I have come a long way. And I'm almost there! It helps to stop and take heart in that. :) The useable space you've got for your drawers is eye opening. It is shocking to me how much useable space is lost!! Wow. I will definitely be going to the cab maker's office to take some measurements from their small showroom. It will help to get a better idea of the dimensions. Thanks so much for the encouraging words javiwa. :) AnnKH: Ooo, what a good idea to order extra shelves!! I hate how I have to stack things in my current cabinets. Extra shelves that are adjustable would be SO great! I'm short too so I'll appreciate having a lower second shelf too! How many shelves did you get for each wall cabinet? I also love your above the fridge pull put! Things can easily get lost up in that deep cabinet so a pull out would be really useful. I'm adding that to my list of wants! artemis_ma, I'd rather not walk from bathroom to closet through the bedroom (I get dressed after I shower). I definitely don't want to rely on my DH to remember to close the bedroom door behind him (because invariably he'll forget) so that I can go from bathroom to closet without putting on a show. I'd be in the same bind if the bedroom shades/drapes were opened while I was in the shower. (Why, hello, neighbor! lol) To each their own. =) Andrew Page, finally you tell us that yes, you need the 4th bedroom! This is information that should have been included in your original post. Off to delete the idea I was drawing up.... I'm assuming that, in addition to the stairway location, the center wall, front to back, that is one side of each module needs to stay as drawn on your plan. Is that true? If it isn't, then there is more flexibility for room lay-out, as damiarain's plan shows. That said, with all the changes that need to be made to make your plan more functional, why not consider other plans or other modular home manufacturers as katinparadise suggested to find one that meets your needs with little or no modifications. I would think that all the change orders required to modify your plan will increase the final cost. A frosted glass door for the upstairs laundry room would help (good idea) as One Devoted Dame suggested, but even so, I'd encourage you to find a way to add an additional natural light source for the upstairs hall. Our upstairs landing is open to the 2 story entry and the 6 x 6 window over the door but because the entry faces northwest, the upstairs landing and hallway aren't as brightly lit as I'd expected when we built, especially on gray days.
