Can you see this fabric with Silver Sage or SW Rainwashed?

I am getting ready to repaint my bedroom and order new drapes. I painted my master bath BM Gray Wisp/ie Silver Sage, and am thinking about painting the bedroom the same color or maybe going one shade lighter which to me seems like SW Rainwashed.

I have dark cherry furniture, cream blinds, and a cream matilesse (sorry sp?) coverlet on the bed. I have a velvet/silk coverlet that I keep folded at the foot of the bed which is a dark silver sage color. The carpet is a neutral beige color. The walls are vaulted and I have a large triple casement south facing window, so I get decent light in the room. So, the basic colors in the room is cream and silver sage, but I wanted a print for the drapes and maybe some pillows on the bed and as a valance in the bathroom. I found this fabric at the local fabric store and am really drawn to it. I'm just wondering if it does't have enough of the silver sage in it to go with the wall color and coverlet. Part of me likes that it doesn't have alot of the green color, but now I'm wondering if I shouldn't paint the room a different color???

I think that is a gorgeous fabric -- and that SS OR RW would look simply wonderful with it! What an elegant combination!

You MUST post photos of your bedroom after it is done -- can't wait to see that room!! :)

I LOVE THAT FABRIC!!!! PLEASE SEND IT TO ME ASAP!!!!!!

I also think that SS or RW would look wonderful w/ it. Sometimes I think that SS can be too cool when I see it w/ SS everything else, but the warmth of that fabric plays off the SS tones so beautifully!

I am still trying to pick my jaw off the floor because it is so pretty.

Did I mention how much I like that fabric?

Thanks all! I ordered a sample can off of the RH site and will see how it looks to be sure. It says it has a velvet finish which sounds interesting too. Tink...thanks for sharing that photo! Very pretty soothing room...loved it! Brown eyed girl...would love to see a pic of your paint result. I'm a bit timid about changing the color...just not sure I'd get the same result. Will post a pic of this room soon as I need a little help with where to stop the painting for the ceiling. It is a small room and the ceiling angles up 3/4 of the way... Cross Between SW Comfort Gray and Rainwashed?

Jockewing, take a look at SW Austere Gray 6184. I actually have three paint strips in front of me..the one with quietude (painted my powderoom that color), comfort gray, and then austere gray. I recently painted my kitchen walls escape gray (it is one shade darker than austere gray) and immediately thought it looked like a grayed down version of the powder room and LOVE IT. I will be painting the connected great room austere since escape gray is just a tad too dark for that much wall space. But it has more green in it than comfort gray so I think you might get the true aqua look you are going for. Because if you compare the comfort gray and austere gray strips...you should be able to see that comfort gray has relatively bluer (and colder) undertones which is why it may seem too gray for what you are going for. Don't, however, compare austere gray on the strip to your quietude wall..it will look very gray since quietude is a bit "cleaner" than austere and it will not look good. It takes on a whole new life once it is on the wall. It looks amazing with both cream and true white.

I have the SS in my bath. I have a variety of towel colors because my last bath was simply black and white and I changed out the accessory colors daily. I find that bright yellow, pale yellow, red and pale blue, all go nicely with the silver sage. As a matter of fact I'm going to paint my guest BR at the new house SS and I picture a very pale yellow ceiling, a white bedspread (I like the cotton ones that I can wash all the time because of pets), and the throw pillows will be white with maybe some red embroidered cherries on them. I'm going to have pale yellow rugs (I like throw rugs vs one large), and white lace curtains. I might put up some art that has blue and yellow. I don't know yet, I'll have to live in it a little while before making decisions on art. The room will be kind of cottage/shabby chic looking I suppose. I don't know if my ideas help, but I just wanted to throw them out there for you. Good luck.

Thank you all! I am contemplating using this for a 3rd color in my LR. My one wall is opposite the 6 front windows which get the east light. Carpet is a blue with grey undertones & my sofa & chair are from Norwalk which I love. Sofa's butter yellow w/blue cording trim-the chair is just the reverse. My other chair is a color I love w/the blue & yellow-a dusty salmon, which has seen its better days. I'm stressing as to a complimentary color to go w/the furniture. My walls are currently a soft gold with a butter yellow sponged on top-very subdued-not your typical 'sponged effect'. I have enjoyed the walls but I'm tired if it. I'd like to get pretty bold for color on the sofa wall since the 6 windows make the room very well lit. BUT..I'm also thinking I should keep the same density of color as the furniture since I'm not sure how a bold color wall will read w/the butter sofa.. The sage peaks my interest. Thanks, will go to RH & get a small bottle. I'd take pics but 1.camera is on the blink & 2. I have to have someone post them for me anyway-my msn unit doesn't have that capability.

Thanks for validating my choice! It really is a pretty fabric - it is 80% linen and 20% cotton, so it has a light airy feel to it.

I tried to find it on the internet to see if I could get it cheaper somewhere else - it's $21.99 a yard. But no luck. It's called Ambala by D'Ascoli & Co. - 5th Avenue Design for Covington Fabric (That's what is printed down the side!)

Caroleoh, that is a really pretty fabric. Seems like it will look great with the SS colors. Sounds like the rest of your things are solid colors so this will bring some pretty variety to the room. I have to laugh when I hear you describe your rooms - they so often sound much like mine!

That fabrics looks like it will make very pretty drapes with nice movement to them. Post pics when you are done.

I LOVE that fabric. I think it would look fabulous with silver sage paint color. IMO, I like the idea that there is only a touch of silvery sage in it. You can always add a throw pillow of something with MORE of that color in it, but for drapes, you get my vote!!!!

love it!

there are runners and area rugs at home goods right now in a VERY similar pattern and identical colors.

i have silver sage in 2 rooms in my house and i think i was contemplating buying one of the runners until something shiny and sparkly caught my eye in the store... i'm admittedly over-stimulated in home decor stores. :)

Geez, I love that fabric. I think that fabric would make your room so elegant/classical and the SS will look great with it.
