I'm headed to Benjamin Moore to try for a color match using their matching equipment. I have never loved a color matched paint before... but there seems to be no choice in the matter. I am told the rules are that you MUST match the trim to the cabinets... and I dare not accidentally introduce some new/different undertones OR ELSE! I anticipated choosing white wall and trim paint would be easy - HA! Nope. Apparently, there are six thousand white paint colors. And the rules of engagement are TIGHT. I'm sitting here with a sample piece of cabinet and four color decks from BM and SW. None of the whites look like a match. And, sorry to say, the Pure White by SW mentioned above? It looks especially mismatched to Kraftmaid Dove White. I wish Kraftmaid would either let their color formula out or provide healthier paint options. My Kraftmaid cabinet doors all came smelling like fresh spraypaint and needed to be remediated with a hydroxyl generator before they stopped making my VOC meter sing! KM certainly needs to step up their supposed "twice oven cured" process. Anyhow, it was terrible, and I want nothing to do with bringing a fresh Kraftmaid gallon of nightmares in to our home. I want matching trim, not the VOC levels of a meth lab.

thank you guys..actually i realized that the granite we liked is not Bianco Antico but a very similar granite called Delicatus. I love it! But no matter how many searches I do online, I dont see it paired with antique brown cabinets. I have seen it with almost every other stained cabinet there is but not the stain we are choosing. DH does not want to go darker or lighter on the cabinet stain and thinks Delicatus will go just fine. Our designer is trying to push a more golden granite on us and thinks that I should stick to all warm tones...although she is the expert I somehow feel that Delicatus just might work. It has so many colors in it that I think it will compliment the brown cabinets pretty nicely. But then is the question of the flooring..Dark brown cabinets, Delicatus granite, and nutmeg stained oak floors scraped lightly. Do you think there are too many different colors going on there?

Well, that's a loaded question and way too much can affect the answer. However, we have been really impressed with the Benjamin Moore Advance line of paint (and their Advance primer, you'll want to use a good primer too!) for cabinetry. We chose the nice, bright, crisp, and cool toned white of Chantilly Lace (in the BM Advance) when we painted our kitchen cabinetry and we are thrilled with it. It's not a soft white though. Whatever color of white you go with though, please choose a good paint made for cabinetry, it makes all the difference in the world... especially with a DIY.
