Anyone have an outdoor patio heater??

I'm trying to do some research before I buy one. Just looking to warm up our small 10' patio in So.Cal for winter nights. Lowe's has only 2 kinds, "Garden Treasure's" brand, but I can't find any reviews about them. Does anyone use one, would you recommend it, where did you get your's?

We don't, but my previous neighbors both bought the tall heaters from Sam's. Don't know the brand name, though.

Yes, I did but I did not find it very effective. It was too hot nearby and cold elsewhere. I guess similar to a fireplace with no other heat for me.

Mike it is not your fault it is the locataion of where you live. Is your air carrying heavey high humidity this time of the year, if so that is your problem.? Jades grow on rocky hillsides in SW Africa. They love to be cramped between rocks, it reminds them of home. I have said this over and over through the years, does anyone here pay attention or am I just wasting time? I need to know. Check back through the archives for the past 15 years. There is no magic pill that will cure this. It is a cultural condition which you will need to learn, I know this is not what you want to hear, but I can not sugar this up so the information will go down easier. Norma

Pottery Barn Indio Outdoor Dining Patio Furniture anyone?

We have had a partial order of our Indio Metal Dining set and Lounge chairs delivered. (the rest is on backorder) While everything looks nice one of the Chaise lounge chairs and a couple of the dining chairs their legs do not all lign up and so there is a slight wobble to the chair. Both Chaise lounge chairs (not kept under the patio) have been rained on, while they look fine they are retaining water inside the aluminum construction of the chair. While i know aluminum does not rust, however aluminum can corrode over time. I am wondering if this is going to compromise the longevity of the chair? Again everything looks great, the quality of the product leaves us second guessing the purchase decision. Coming from a major designer/retailer like Pottery Barn this is a really big disservice to the customer confidence. i am looking forward to seeing how Pottery Barn addresses the situation. and here are a couple boring videos i took of the chair leaking water, the chairs are on their side and about 2 days after the last rain event. And yes the videos are like watching paint dry.. looks nice

Look up the wattage of the heaters you like. Then look up your electricity charge per kilowatt hour on a bill. For comparison, a basic hairdryer uses about 1000 watts. Electricity in the top of three tiers in my area of CA is currently 34 cents per kilowatt hour. Your rates will be different. The upshot here is that we could run electric heaters briefly, but "we can't afford to heat the great outdoors", as some of our grandparents used to say.

Yes, we have a full-size one and I'm so glad we bought it. We're in SoCal, too, and agree that the evenings get a bit chilly, but the heater allows us to enjoy entertaining on the patio long after we would normally have retreated inside. We're going to get a table-top model for our upstairs deck so that I can enjoy my coffee near the tree tops on winter mornings.

We bought the large one via Tuesday Morning online for $149, free shipping. I checked the label and it says WindChaser Products.

We lived in Orange County and had one, we got it at Costco about three years ago. Once DH put it together and learned the trick of getting it to light, it worked great, and it was very very cozy to sit under it on the patio. Though it's true that move out of its range only slightly and it'll be cold, so you have to sort of huddle. Which is fun. When we came to TX we discovered our back deck on this house was much too windy in cold weather season to even consider using it.
