Comments (83)I bought the cute PB Reindeer mugs last year for Christmas. We ended up not using them until this year. They were tucked away in my kitchen cabinet in their box until we brought them out this Christmas. I rinsed them out and used Two, one for hot chocolate and one for tea. The person with the tea suddenly had the hot liquid coming out at the base. At first she thought she had spilled it and grabbed a cloth. While this was happening the other person was pouring the hot water into the Chocolate mix in his cup, there was a cracking popping sound and the hot chocolatey liquid spewed out from a very large crack running vertically down the side. In the meantime the hot tea cup was continuously seeping from around the base of the cup but we couldn't see a crack anywhere. After cleaning up the mess and making sure no one suffered any burns, we cleaned out the cups and checked them out. One had an obvious crack that had occurred, while the other one used for tea had no discernibly visible crack. BUT we discovered that when you ran a wet finger around the bottom of the sides of the inside base of the cup , you could feel a hairline crack running almost completely around the inside base circumference. These cups come in a package of 4 and are expensive considering 2 out of 4 cracked when used for hot drinks. We are afraid to use the other two cups for fear of getting burnt. l wanted to read reviews of these cups but cant find ANY reviews on any of their products. This leads me to thinking they purposely don't have anywhere to post them. From a CS perspective this is a very poor optic, doesn't inspire brand loyalty or any desire to continue to purchase their products. Trust and belief in the brand providing quality products is seriously compromised. I also purchased a woven duvet cover that I have to needle in a couple of loose ends that were left sticking out the ”GoodSide” of the cover. Shoddy finishing work with a no care attitude....See MoreIn search of outdoor furniture.
Comments (42)I was in the market this spring for two super comfortable chairs and ottoman for my deck. I didn't want to pay a lot of money, of course, but was willing to pay for comfort and I was not going to buy online w/o being able to sit on it! So I checked out BedBathBeyond, HD and Lowes. HD (only) had a set that was terrific. It is part of a Martha Stewart collection called Charlottetown. I bought it online so I could select from a wider selection of available fabrics. If they didn't have that set, I would have ended up at a furniture store paying lots more money for sure. Total was $477 for two chairs and 1 ottoman (no tax/free shipping). I went with a non-Sunbrella fabric choice to save $100 or so plus I liked that color the best of all the fabric choices. The set is faux wicker, which was fine for me. If I was doing much larger areas, that would be add up a lot and a lot of assembly!!! I also don't think you should get eating table & chairs to identically match seating sets. Seems like it might be too matchy-matchy, but it might depend on the particular style and your actual physical layout. I was in HD last week and the outdoor seating department was being taken apart :-( I also purchased 2 awesome cushion covers for rain. I love them. Easy to use and good pvc-lined fabric, really blocks rain and no mildew inside if left on extended periods. special ventilation. http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Veranda-Patio-Lounge-Chair-Cover/8207328/product.html...See MoreGood quality catalog/mail order outdoor furniture?
Comments (11)We really like our Martha Stewart chaise lounge chairs from Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-Living-Cedar-Island-All-Weather-Wicker-Adjustable-Patio-Chaise-Lounge-with-Dragon-Fruit-Cushion-DY4035-C/202436786 I ordered this daybed last year from Walmart and was shocked at the quality and comfort level. Love it! I don't use the canopy, I bought a big umbrella instead. At some point, this will go down in price to about $299 if I remember correctly from last year: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Providence-Outdoor-Day-Bed-Red/29002326 And Sam's Club outdoor furniture is very nice. I just ordered the Member's Mark Heritage set for my FL outdoor dining: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/heritage-7pc-balcony/prod15930293.ip?sprodId=prod15930293 I also have a very similar seating set to this one in PA: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/carnaby-4pc-seat-14-2014-seating/prod11800695.ip I bought some expensive custom wicker furniture for our PA screen porch last year, but all of these above pieces I linked to are much nicer and more comfortable than that furniture....See MoreShopping for Outdoor Furniture
Comments (71)JT, I have been toying with a mix and match approach-- i have saved some photos combining some of the pieces I like from different collections. I think you are right-- that is how i may be able to best achieve my "something different" IFF I do it correctly. I won't want to combine a boxy, straight line design with one that is curvier, etc. I will also want to keep things similar heights. I appreciate the thought/suggestion. I also know that I keep leaning towards the "weathered" natural look vs dark brown. I think that could work with my existing chairs if i pull it together well with a rug etc. (I haven't even begun looking at rugs and won't until I am further along). I also think i am leaning towards a vintage classic look--- the one outlier there is the better homes & garden set. Since it is out of stock, I'll only worry about that if it returns to stock. I will of course add color and my kind of "funky" in the accessories. Still considering how to incorporate a fridge (i think I have a spot that could work-- and would also allow me to leave water for delivery guys!) and still seriously considering a Free Little Library. Ok, that won't be part of the porch space but it's something I want to do. It may be my birthday present to myself (april)....See Morejlemail3
