Can handle go in front on Price Pfister Hanover?

Ok, I know w/ the Kohler Vinnata pulldown you can place the handle right/left/center. Is there any reason you couldn't do that w/ other similarly styled pulldowns, specifically the Price Pfister Hanover (529-7TMS)?

I just called Price Pfister and asked them, but the lady had a *very* difficult time understanding what I was asking. I asked to speak to someone in Tech. Svcs--turns out she *was* in Technical Services Dept. :-( She said no, you couldn't, but I wasn't really confident in her answer. She acted like she had never heard of anyone wanting to do such a thing! LOL

Yes, there are a couple of people here who've done that. I think you can do it on most single handle faucets.

We have had a PP 2 handle kitchen faucet for 10 years. The finish is still perfect and our water has a little lime deposit in it. We had an issue with the faucet leaking around the stem recently. My husband took it apart and an internal part was slightly bent from our kids using the spount to pull themselves up to reach the handles when they were younger! We contacted PP online and asked them to replace the part b/c they have their "pforever" guarentee. They are sending the part to us and we are to send them a check for $5 to cover shipping. The part was not available at our local home improvement stores. The part was available on their website for $10.50 plus shipping but they replaced it for only shipping. We haven't received the part yet, but hopefully anyday. I guess maybe it's like any company, some product lines are good and others are designed poorly.

They are pretty, work as well as (but no better than) other brands in the same price range. I bought them because of the warrantee which SOUNDED great but, in practice, not so much. Yes, they will 'replace the unit for free'. BUT, what they don't tell you in the warrantee is that the FASTEST delivery time is 7 to 10 days unless you are willing to pay for 'expedited shipping' which STILL takes a MINIMUM of 2 to 3 days! So, you have the option of (1) paying for a new faucet to get your repairs done quickly OR (2) you can wait for 3 to 10 days while your water is turned off OR leaking so severely that the cost of the water would be more than a new faucet. AND the so-called "customer service personnel" are less-than-polite, don't speak English well (thank goodness I speak Spanish - but WHY should I have to in the USA?!) and really have no sense of what Customer Service is supposed to be and that includes the Managerial levels! I will NEVER buy another one. It's not worth the headach.

I've ordered a houseful of PPf's 'Ashfield' line. The woman at the plumbing supply house was a little reluctant to speak her mind at first. I said something along the lines of 'Don't see whats not to like, since they have a ceramic cartridge just like Moen and the designer brands'. She was quick to respond 'Oh no they don't: it's technically ceramic, but it's light years behind what the other national brands use. The ceramic elements and the other internals really don't compare'. But I figured 1> I can change out a faucet pretty easily, thank you, and 2> Since I'm looking at all ashfields, I can buy a couple extra cartridges here and now, store them for later and 3> she fully admits she hadn't sold many PPfs, so her info isn't exactly based on deep experience. Since no other faucet looks much like the Ashfield, I decided to risk it. It will probably be a few years before I really know whether I've chosen well...

pinch_me, I just ran your experiment - and I got the exact same quantity regardless of the water temp - my flow doesn't change at all across the spectrum of temps. I had an output of 160 oz/minute. I can see why you are disappointed in the flow! It doesn't seem like the faucet should change your output that much based on temperature - could there be some sort of kink or obstruction in your water lines to the faucet? Your comments reminded me of my interactions with PricePfister - I thought I had called them, but now I remember that it was electronic communication, either online or just email - and they did the same thing to me (asked for shipping address). A couple of days later, there was a new faucet on our doorstep. I think when they asked for the shipping, I did reply to that message and ask if they needed any pictures to prove my situation, and they said no. I found them incredibly easy to work with, and as I said, ended up with a second faucet (perhaps unneeded) - but we'll be using it in our new extra bathroom in this remodel! Keep us posted - I'm curious as to what is causing the problem.

I wanted to put my Moen faucet (similar design) with the handle on the left, but it wasn't possible due to something in the way underneath the sink. I'd double check it before you drill the hole. :)

I don't know but I have that faucet and I LOVE IT! It has been working great and it's one the best things in my new kitchen. :)

I sure hope you can because that is what I am planning on doing. Not enough clearance for either side.

How is your kitchen coming along? Any idea when you'll be finished? Or is this a new build? So you are planning on using the Hanover, specifically, or did you just mean you were going to have the handle in front on another, similarly styled faucet? If you are using the Hanover, I'd love to see a pic once you're done. I want to save it for when we remodel--in case I need to prove that it CAN be done!

jbrig- It is a remodel. We are doing everything, and I do mean everything, ourselves. So.... everything takes forever!!
We have our floor down, our cabinet boxes built and installed, our concrete countertops poured and ground, so we are up to doors and drawers, then we are done. Gosh, sounds so simple doesn't it!!
But yes, I do own the Hanover. As a matter of fact I bought it about a year ago! I probably won't get it installed for another month or so, but I will gladly drop it into the install hole and take a picture for you if you want. If I put mine to the side the handle will knock into the (future) backsplash. Bad planning on my part!
