I have actually owned the epicure range last year and the Wolf range this year. I think the rangetops you are considering would be the same as on these ranges. A sort of disclaimer-I had a very bad experience with the oven in the range and with Dacor customer service in general but I can give you my opinion about the rangetop that did have things that I liked. I think Dacor has some great ideas. One of the reasons I bought it was the extra wide platforms in the middle. I tend to cook with large pots. Actually if you look at the Dacor manual the big burners, the simmer/sear 18,00BTU burners are on the front outside 9" platforms, not under the 14" platforms. The actual platform size is not so relevant in use, but rather the fact that the burners are set further apart that give a little more room on the cook top. Both rangetops have the entire top covered in even grates so making them smaller or larger does not matter when using the middle burners. You can set almost any size pot on the center burners of the Wolf or the Dacor. I think the Dacor burners are set a little more forward on the range but that is just my impression using both and I have not measured. On the wolf range the simmer burner is the back left burner. All in all I did not find that much difference in the way they cooked. I do like having the simmer burner in the back of the Wolf instead of the front burner. FWIW, my husband thinks the Wolf is easier to keep clean. Another thing-pull the knobs off and look at them. On mine the Dacor knobs were plastic and one broke after a few months. The Wolf knobs were very sturdy and they sent extra ones along. I would read both manuals and maybe take the pots you want to use and try them out and see what works. Thanks deeebert. Yes, actually I do live in Atlanta and have been to Sewell and that is where I first learned about the Dacor Millenia. I am just so curious to hear from someone who has it in real life. Someone somewhere out there must have it, right...

i will weigh in on this at a later date-- so don't want to flame dacor too hard yet. we chose dacor for our remodel (just finished-- mostly) because it is american made and because it got good reviews. got the RGC365 renaissance gas model. has not worked since day one. company sent repairperson. repairperson said could not fix. company insisted on sending part. repairperson still could not fix. waited a week for approval of new cooktop. approved. "can't send for 6 weeks." that was 3 weeks ago. called yesterday. "can't send for at least 6 weeks." that's the short version-- happy they are replacing it. very, very unhappy that we have had no cooktop since remodel started early june-- and will have none until november sometime. if they are being honest. i would check on the availability of models through dacor before ordering. will post again when this all ends. kawh

So, what did you decide? My Miele 36” induction cooktop bit the dust. I’m thinking of a gas rangetop, either Wolf or Thermador. It was a struggle finding a Miele repair person in my area, so I will be going with an appliance store that provides service for everything they sell. That means no Miele, no Bluestar. The sales person recommended the Thermador for ease of cleaning. It’s easy to wipe under the burner. I have maids once a week, so this isn’t a deal breaker. I didn’t like the fact that only one dedicated burner can simmer and it clicks on and off. The Wolf, with the high-low burners can simmer on any. Plus I like the Wolf has different BTUs on burners from 9,200 to 20,000 where the Thermador is all 18,000. I do have some smaller pans and I read that the wide star shape burner is just too wide of a flame for a smaller saucepan. I’m actually waiting on the quote to repair my Miele, but I am starting the search for a replacement.
