Succulent THING ruining my fence
Comments (21)And, voila! Pictures: https://plus.google.com/photos/114266582036896526681/albums/5721406133179021137 None of these are from far enough away to really show size, because I'm not standing out in the middle of the highway to get that distance and angle... Nor do they really show the fence issue that one can see when standing there. My photography skills just aren't that great. And it was raining still/again/forever! But 4 pics, the one with the wee bit of house showing on the right is taken on the neighbor's side of the fence line, all others are on our own side of the fence. Large non-fence wood in back ground is a 15 ft stump of Very Large & Dead eucalyptus that will eventually have to come down/out. There is also the giant ice plant growing there, but it's not hard to rip out (and it's invasive along the coast here, so not really welcome, as it's a danger on steeper hillsides) although it spreads like nobody's business!...See MoreCats ruining my furniture
Comments (11)I thought I was the only smart one using the clear packing tape~great minds think alike, bluesbarby!LOL Just did the sides/corners(all 4), as they had no interst in the back. I also would chase them away by smacking a towel at them, but the younger one thought it was a game and started scratching whenever I was in the room. He also liked to scratch on the matress at the head of the bed. I kept a spray bottle of water on the nightstand, but this never stopped him~little bugger! My DD has him now, and his bad habits haven't changed~he's ruining *their* sofa/matress now! LOL ;o) patty_cakes...See MoreHow I almost ruined my kitchen before it is even finished
Comments (13)I actually did a similar thing, but I didn't knowingly put dish soap in the dishwasher. I did something I had done a million times before--I put the squirter to some hand soap in the silverware tray. This time apparently it had more soap in the straw thingy. I turned on the dishwasher and left. In about 10 minutes I was going to work. That's something I have not done again--turn the dishwasher on and leave. Well, considering it was just a little pump, there were so many suds, I couldn't believe it. Luckily it was before the renovation and I had laminate floor which was not ruined. I haven't done that again, either....See MoreFirst time refinishing some furniture! Think I might need some help..
Comments (35)Hi guys! Just a little update that I'm very happy about! The wood stain arrived today (the sanding paper and top coat haven't yet, but should by the end of this week). I had just about enough sanding paper to really sand one of the drawers to perfection so I did a test on it with the stain... and the colour I picked is really close to the original! It's still a tiny bit more orangey, but overall I'm super pleased. I took the pictures 20min after painting so I don't think it's completely settled yet, and it still needs that matte clear water based topcoat, so it's not the final colour/finish yet. Just very happy I haven't ruined this piece and will be able to restore it to my liking :) Sanded, new stain, original (it looks more orange on the picture.. in real life it's almost indistinguisable)...See Moremagnaverde
