Silly question, but what about some drawers to put my clothes in when I come to visit?

How about the colours in the picture of your headboard? I love that room.

Personally, while I love the look of a white duvet cover, they make me nervous. At home I can wash it anytime, but if I'm a guest, what if I drool on it in my sleep, or worse . . .

I'd go with a very soft aqua, almost faded light aqua. I used it in my studio for a restful feeling and everyone loves it. The dark wood would look gorgeous against it. I wish I knew the name of the color. It was BM paint.

Homemaker - the old dresser is now in the walk-in closet so if you need to put something in a drawer it's available along with lots of room to hang your clothes and I even have a clothes tree in there. I guess I didn't think of what could happen to a white duvet...

Yayagal - my jack and jill bathroom is EK Aqua and I love that color but want to change it up just slightly. I was thinking of an aqua or silver sagey color or even a gray blue.

My DD thought that with the black furniture, nickel hardware and white duvet it might be too cold rather than spa like. She suggested a green - but when I think of green I think of bright green...

Have you looked at Restoration Hardware's silver sage?

I have to admit that I love the color of the walls and the trim color just as they are. I do think the blue of the curtains and bedspread brings a cold look to the room. I would choose something with a pattern which has a color in it that blends with the wall. If you can get matching drapes that would give a really finished look to your room.

I'm including a (not very good) picture of my bedroom showing a bedcover with a pattern. In the spring I have a quilt on it with soft green, gold and white colors with only the gold curtains and for winter a thicker bed cover in rust and gold. It's fun to change the look. Please ignore the ugly chest at the end of the bed. I'm looking for something more suitable. Meanwhile it serves as a place for the cat's food dish which our short-legged dog can't get to!

I know you were admiring hpj185's guestroom, but what about her master. She has that beautiful blue on the wall.
It looks like your headboard is more cream than white, so I might go with a cream duvet instead of white. I think the blue, cream and black would be beautiful.

HPJ's room is BM Sandy Hook Gray. I have the paint deck and I was surprised at how dark that color is! Of course, in her room it is offset with the white paint below the chair rail which I'm sure lightens it up quite a bit. Her plan is to add the picture fame molding below the chair rail.

Gosh, I wouldn't change the paint at all, I think it's gorgeous. But for a spa look/feel I would soften up all the bedding and drapes. You could do a bit of a monochromatic look with soft creams and beiges, or introduce some soft aquas and cocoas.

Ingrid thanks for including a picture of your lovely room. I thought about having a multicolored bedspread but I haven't come across one that I like.

Daisyadair - silver sage has always been one of my favorites, but I can't tell if it is a warm or cool color. I am so horrible with colors!!

The headboard is a linen looking cream/brown but it can be changed out with a fabric of your choice. I don't mind the headboard color bc it blends pretty well and it is sturdy. The furniture arrives Nov 22 so once I get it in the room I will get a better idea of what colors will go well with it. That is why DD suggested the green bc it would go with browns, blacks, whites.

kmcg85 - Is Sandy Hook Gray a warm color? Is it blue or greenish? The BM store is closed on Sundays so I couldn't check it out this weekend.

You are already off to a great start! The bed & tables look beautiful - the neutral fabric ties into the chaise.
Using that wonderful painting on your wall - what about working with those colors? Rusts, blues, tans.....
I would look for a fab fabric in those colors for drapes with a fringe or tassel that pulls all the colors together. Then get a cream matelasse & fold the dark blue duvet at the bottom of the bed or have a throw made in one of the fabrics - again with fun fringe. You could then add 2 pillow shams & find a really fun fabric for a smaller pillow for the bed & one for the chaise.

Without knowing which way you lean towards fabric styles....here are some with the colors.

I am getting rid of the blue bedspread. DD picked it out and she is taking it with her to her new apartment and the curtains (which never fit the window anyway) are going too.

caminnc - those are very beautiful items you chose for the room. The aqua reminds me of the bathroom I just painted in EK Aqua - which I love but wasn't sure it would be good for a bedroom. Where did you find bedspread and lamp?

Does anyone know if Silver Sage is a warm or cool color? Does anyone know what EK color is comparable to Silver Sage?
I know I want a white duvet and was thinking of the Martha Stewart duvet with the creamy embroidery on it. I think it is on sale at Macys and I have a coupon... :) But what color drapes? White? Too much to think about...

I am still worried that with black, white, and cream, a silvery color will be too cold and medicinal.

I did run over to the BM store to get some paint chips and found a bunch of silvery greens that might look nice. I want it more aqua/green than lime green and I asked the sales person if they were warm or cool colors and he showed me a chart to look at versus telling me if they were warm or cool (I am guessing his way of telling me he didn't know either).

I have been shopping online for the duvets but I will check out the stores this weekend.

Silver sage is a color that changes with the light in the room as well as what you put with it. It can be gray, green, or blue. Warm yellows and pink accents can help it be warm. My guest room has a big south facing window, and it is a very warm color in there, paired with a lot of white. My master bedroom faces north, and my only accent color is my dark wood bed. In there it's more gray and cooler.
Perhaps you could do one accent wall with a warmer color to help?
