Have you looked at the Kohler Cape Dory? Or the Kohler Iron Cobalt?

I have a 33" base and we have the kohler Bakersfield. I love this sink. It might actually be my favorite thing in the kitchen. Here's a pic, but sorry so big!

I just ordered the Bakersfield from Build.com, but it's actually less expensive at HomeDepot because the shipping there is free. Discovered that last night and kicked myself. I've also seen the sink in person and agree with jalsy6 - it's so pretty. I think the dimensions would be perfect. cape Dory might be just an inch too big.

Have you looked at the Kohler Riverby? It comes in an undermount and with a positive reveal that allows its accessories such as a cutting board or drain board to fit across the sink. I heard recently here that one of the sizes was being discontinued and also heard here that someone was able to buy a top mount for savings and get it undermounted by their granite fabricator. I have a smaller sink base, 27 inch, and was able to get in the 25x22 sink. It also has the drain off to the right which gives me more room in the smaller sink base to squeeze in the trash can (I have a small kitchen). Good luck to you.

Thank you all for your responses. I have been looking at all three sinks: Cape Dory, Bakerfield, and Riverby. There are so many posts stating that these fit in to a 36" base cabinet, I thought that a 33" cabinet wasn't big enough. Even the on-line customer sales rep said that I needed a 36" cab. If you all have these in a 33" cab, I will cancel the SS on order tomorrow, and place an order for a cast iron sink that I will enjoy for years. Were there any problems installing the sink?

Still, I only have a 27 inch sink base and the Kohler web site contains a typo that I asked them to correct. They said my sink needed a 36 inch base, it is only 25 by 22. As it seems with everything in this project, I still received wrong info in an email from them so I called. After a long while on the phone, a tech confirmed the sink should fit in the 27 base, should, no guarantee. We did have to carve the cab, a big no no, but this is one of those things everyone does so I am told. A large sink and a DW was important to me and I have a small space. Why don't you call Kohler before you cancel anything. I really wanted a white sink and still feel it was a gamble but it did fit after Dh carved the cabinet. I did get words from the granite fab about how large the sink was but they are working around it.
Something to keep in mind is how heavy a cast iron sink is. Mine is still supported by the cab.

33" sinks only fit into 33" bases if you carve the sides and NEVER EVER have to change the sink out. I wouldn't take that bet on a cast iron. You may chip it some day and want to replace it. You'd have to practically deconstruct the cabinet underneath it to remove it and then rebuild the cabinet to put in a new one.

Sinks need that extra bit of clearance in a cabinet. The largest sink that can fit a 33" base is a 30" sink.
