Window treatment question-How would you dress this window?
Comments (23)Snbtwins, your best bet is decide the length of the rod, where you want the panels to start and stop. Since you are having the panels custom made, I would suggest you use that measurement to figure how many lengths or half lengths of fabric you want the panels to be. When I make panels I prefer them to be at least double the width they were cover. Since you will not be closing them, that would be from the edge inside edge of the window trim to the finial. Measure from arrow to arrow and double (or 2.5 times) to get width of finished panel....See MoreWindow treatments - view from outside

You can attach fringe or some other decorative element to the bottom of the shade, and you can even attach it to the back side (if you want) to make it more visible from outside. Or you could replace them with Roman shades....See Morelooking for a window treatment for this window.
Comments (9)Hey There: Do you really want to replace these blinds? They give you everything you are looking for - privacy and light management with this bottom up top down operation feature. Additionally these blinds fold very small and don't block your window (shutters and roman shades take away so much of the window with an inside mount). You just need to add some color......See MoreLooking for help with possible window treatment

By pulling back the right one with a tie back or ribbon, what ever you wish, (I would use a piece of tan twine to keep it simple, then pull it in the middle to the same width as the right one. That way the window panes with have the same amount of glass showing in the middle and it fools the eye. By the way, I really love your room, it's so original and all the tones work so well, especially love your bedding and the green elephant....See More- 12 years ago
