I agree that the blending in of the sink doesn't seem like a problem. We have a creme bordeaux granite with a Blanco single bowl antrhacite siligranite sink. The granite has a fair amount of black in it. When it was first installed with the sink it took me awhile to realize there was a sink there. At first glance from across the room it just looked like a black hole. I have grown to really like this sink. Like the black hole look and love how it stays clean looking with little or no scrubbing. Sit back relax and enjoy the new counters and your sink. As far as changing it out. Funny you ask because I looked at the sink just in case someday it had a problem and I had to replace it. With an undermount on a granite countertop they do use silicone to mount and seal it. That is not really a huge problem since it can be cut and cleaned off. Now beyond that really depends on the rest of the installation. Some installers sandwich the sink between the plywood underlayment and the granite. In this case to remove although not impossible it is more difficult. Other installers use some method of screwing mounting brackets around the underneath rim. These are not as difficult to remove. The short answer would have been yes they can be removed and replaced. And yes it may take a little work. Sit back relax and enjoy your new countertops and sink.

A mood board is a great idea. Force yourself to prioritize. What is the one piece you really don't want to give up. I'm betting its the stove. (That would be mine! That stove is to die for!) So make everything work with that. On my monitor I hadn't seen pink in the granite. Now knowing that, I'd say the cherry color in the cabinet wood is just fine with the granite you chose. Is the color of the stove also present in the granite slab? If it is, you are good. its really hard to judge color from a photo posted online, so here's one 'rule' that may help you focus in on what you -may- want to consider changing. If the color, or any shade of that color is in your granite slab, you can use it in the room. An exact match is not interesting or necessary. Second, you usually want a dominant tome and then other colors you bring out of that slab will be accents, so you won't use so much of them. Now, there are a million caveats to that, and of course, breaking the rules can bring fantastically stunning drama, but I think if you start with that one rule as a starting place, your own vision will begin to materialize. Whatever feels good to you will work. Just keep at it until it gels for you. With all the ideas coming from folks here and what you can see because you're looking directly at the different colors and where they will be in relation to each other, and considering the light in the room, it will begin to come together and you'll get a feel for where you will or won't want to challenge color 'rules'. I should say all of the above goes out the window if you're going for a monochromatic look. LOL BTW, I love my miele vacuum and I didn't even know they make dishwashers, but I can wax poetic about my bosch dishwasher. In addition to how well it functions, I'm very sensitive to background noise and its sooo quiet. Since its the way your faucet will stay where you aim it that really attracts you to it, maybe look at upscale stylized commercial configurations. I don't have any experience to draw on, its just a thought.

We have/had a similar situation. Templating was last Friday with the fabrication to take place Monday. Unfortunately, due to other issues surrounding the cabinets (ugh), both DH had I took a huge amount of time off work last week (really bad timing for both of us), and there was absolutely no WAY we were going to be able to take time on Monday to be at fabrication. I will say that we had originally planned on being there. Cabinet guys are running really, really behind resulting in granite guy templating 3 days late. On the bright side, he WAS able to install on schedule so that everything else didn't fall behind. Okay, so it went in yesterday. There were unfortunately more seams than I wanted, mostly because of the length of our counter runs and the size of the slabs. All but one seam were beautiful. That one seam, however, was in a rather prominent place. In addition, it was literally like night and day on either side of the seam. When the templater was here, I did specifically speak about what I wanted in terms of continuity. Well, uh, so yesterday I had one granite running all the way through the kitchen except for one very small 2-foot section on the end of a counter run. It didn't just look like it came from a different slab - it looked like it was a totally different granite! We're dealing with Uba Tuba, which is usually very consistent, but these two slabs were vastly different. So, I commented to the installer about it yesterday. He agreed with me and said he and the rest of the installers had been talking about it and what to do. Well, lo and behold, before I even had a chance to call GC this morning, granite guys were in my kitchen at 8:15 a.m. pulling the odd-colored piece of granite out. His comment: "This is totally unacceptable." So, I don't have a new piece in yet, maybe later this afternoon or first thing tomorrow morning. So, this is my lengthy way of saying that it can and should be fixed! I'm just so grateful that this crew knew it and there was no argument whatsoever from them. Made my day.

nasalzak, The tiles you have should be mesh backed. You can "peel" individual tiles off and replace them with tiles of the same size. This can be done while still doing the install as a 12x12 sheet. I believe jodi in ca did this with her Jeffrey Court Fire and Ice backsplash. She took off some darker ones and added lighter glass tiles to brighten it up. Make sure the little tiles are the same size (they often say they are 1x1 but are actually 5/8 x5/8) and the same thickness (1/4 or 1/8). If you then wanted to get really creative you could insert/sprinkle some red glass in the copper, create a 3" or so wide strip of border, and continue with the copper above that. You wouldn't need that much redish glass tile depending on how much backsplash space you have. HOpe that helps a little.
