Christmas wreath--pre-lit and outdoor

I'd like to buy a decent pre-lit, battery powered, wreath for my front door for Christmas this year. It is somewhat sheltered but still, obviously, outside. Cost does matter, but value matters just as much as I'd like something that looks nice and can be reused for a few years. I'm thinking a fairly traditional wreath with faux greenery as the base.

Suggestions for sources or even particular items much appreciated!

Look at Frontgate, Costco and Gumps. I have had one from Frontgate for 3 years that I like. Very basic and traditional. I have one from Costco as well for front door. More ornate. They did have trad ones too. Manufacturer is Village Lighting or something like that. Just got new garland from Gumps. More ornate but I really like it. They are having 20% off right now and have less ornate ones. Frontgate is having % off right now too, depending on how much you spend.

All that I have are pre-lit and battery operated.

I needed a big one and made my own by buying a bunch of green garlands and wrapping them with lights around a hula hoop. Then I wired in a few "picks" from the local craft store and added a big bow of wired ribbon. We added a wire from top to bottom to help support the hoop frame as it did get a bit heavy. But it worked for us.

Here's something I did for a display garden at this years state fair. In case the photo doesn't display - I took two of the large sized tomato cages and placed them one inside the other (wedged in real good). I took small gauge wire and just sorta spider webbed the whole cage to make the openings smaller. Then I spray painted the cage (tower) black and hung small jeweled beads on it. I pounded it into the ground and filled it with glass rocks that I have as decorations in my garden. But you could fill the cage with anything - gourds, pinecones, ornaments, driftwood etc. I wove small twinkle lights in and thru the rocks of glass and then made a cap out of some liquid plastic (didn't work that well) and topped it off with smaller glass chunks and a gazing globe. But you could fill it with just about anything. Looked really cool at night lit up.

They run main power cables up the trunk to distribute power out to the various levels of the tree. Most of the light strings say no more than three plugged end to end. Inside the plug part are tiny fuses to protect against overload. There are usually extra fuses packed with the new strings of lights.

The neighborhood men are decorating the street to compete in our town's decoration contest on Dec 4. We won it last year, which was the 1st time they did it. They are out there every weekend with equipment until Dec 4th to get it all done for the judging. We have had a big turnover in home owners on our one block street the past 5 years, and now we have a lot of much younger men here. One or two are really big into decorating houses, so we all pitch in and they rent a lift and bought lights that they install on all the eaves. This year we all pitched in for a tall artificial tree at the end of the block too, which will be installed between our front yard and the side yard next door. Then they play carols and attach the lights to a device that blinks the lights to the beat of the music. On top of that we put out our own decorations, and two homes seem to have bought every yard decoration possible from Lowe's and Home Depot. It is so colorful and exciting. I can't wait for the grandsons to come visit and see all the lights. We beam into outer space from so many strands of lights!

Well I don't know how anyone could read that without shedding a few tears. Still have a lump in my throat thinking about it. We were watching the news tonight and it showed little ones getting what would probably be their only Christmas gift from some charity. There were tons of toys and each child got to pick one. The look on their little faces made me cry, too. Then a few minutes ago I saw this little boy on TV who was more than disappointed with all his presents throwing a fit and saying, "I didn't get poop for Christmas." What can I say?

Even cheaper...You don't have to buy the green garland.
I go to Home Depot or such where they discard the branches when they trim a tree for customers.Attach to a hoop.

OOOOPs I guess this doesn't satisfy the need to reuse.

But...I have a fake tree and this satisfies my need for pine scented xmas.

Another source is QVC. I especially like the various products by Bethlehem Lights. For me they last very well, the lights don't burn out, and the "greenery" is flexible and holds its shape, and it's easy to attach additional ornaments, ribbons, pine cones, etc.

Go to qvc dot com and in the search window type Christmas Wreaths. There is a huge selection!

Depending on your climate, batteries won't last very long in cold weather

Yrs back I had a battery powered wreath hung between an interior and exterior stormdoor.
The double C batteries weren't even lasting an hr.

Thank you! No problems with a pre-lit battery operated outdoor garland last year so I think a pre-lit batter operated wreath should be fine.
