Anyone else get virus alerts using forum?

All of a sudden today I get an alert for a thread called

"Virus found JS/Redir" everytime I come to this site, click on a thread, change forums etc. I add it to vault, but it happens with every click. It hasn't happened with any other site so far... anyone else having this problem? I use AVG security, firefox browser with pop-ups and ads disabled...

Yes, I am too and when I googled this thread was the first hit. It is only on this site and has been happening since yesterday. I too use Firefox browser but I also tried on IE and the same thing happens.

Me three.
Same JS/Redir virus, and I'm also using AVG and Firefox with all her friendly kits.

Kevin, I use various programs to counter the ever-present "a*#-holes" who choose to make our lives miserable. I have not, through yesterday, noted a problem through my "security programs". A lot of the searche messages are gone :-( I can find what I am looking for by searching but the file is missing. But the message I am looking for was posted by mgleason56, so I have found you LOL . I remember the posting from september with the pack of cuttings from Lucille Ball and if I remeber correctly you got them from diggerdave . Nice tips, bmore. Wonder if I can use that same technique with Firefox. Have to look into that. Tamara responded to my complaint, stating that she had reported the problem this morning and a fix should be in place soon. She also told me that generally these types of ads should only appear once per session. If only they were that infrequent! I even had the Duracell ad show up on the message preview page and I've never seen an ad there before - not even when we were dealing with the underlined green word hyperlinks mess. Oh, scratch that. I just noticed the Dove bleed-in ad from the right when I previewed my reply. At least it's not nearly as annoying as Duracell or Penney's ads. I've seen the Penney's ad once so far today but no Duracell ad. I'm hoping they've gone away for good.

Mothers are often bound to their son's advice, but I think there are many better choices than Microsoft Security Essentials. It's not highly regarded. A good program works in real time to monitor activity and intercepts undesired traffic, dangerous downloads, etc., in addition to simply scanning drives for known problems If you want to restrict your choices to free ones, any of the "A's" - Avast, AVG, Avira - should all work fine for you. Here's an independent review from a respected source Free Security programs Others are very capable and offer wider services. Most can be obtained for less money than shown, and many ISPs provide a quality product for free. I get Norton free from Comcast Not free security programs

Add me to the group, too.

I'm betting it's one of the ads causing it. I could be wrong, it's just a guess, but whatever is causing it, it's annoying.

Yeah, add me into the bunch, I keep getting this virus warning, too. I have tried moving it into the vault but, even after that, the warning still continues to pop up and it's really driving me nuts. So annoying...blah!

It likely is one of the ads causing it. I have Ad-block (because the ads on this site are too annoying) and haven't had the problem.

Me too...on the cottage garden forum, someone recommended shutting down the browser and clearing all web related caches. I'm going to try it...let you know if it works :)

Same here... but dangit they should REALLY check out who they let advertise here. Its just another black mark.

Im not having problems anymore. There was a fake Norton Antivirus shortcut on my desktop and I dont know where that came from. I deleted that last night - so it was either that or something that was on this forum and is now gone.
