I like squish squash. Looks like it will be a lovely kitchen!

i like the lighter one, m demo started today, so funny, when I looked at your pics, i ordered those same jars with the chalk labels! don't ya love them, mine didn't come yet. good luck! I think the lighter one is much softer

Just from the pics, and not running to the basement to get my swatches, looks like the better bet is SS in some percentage or other--but it's too hard to specify from photos.

How long did the foundation take? I forget, is this a slab or basement? How long until your envelope is sealed again?

I'd have to get my swatches, too.

I can tell you I like all three and definitely your little bird fabric!

Can you incorporate all the colors? It would be so cheerful!

On my monitor, I like the 75% squish paint. Seems to have enough yellow but not too much...

Just make sure they mix up Squish Squash and not Squash Squish instead. BM seems to like to have names flipped around like that.....

marcolo- Yes, I think Squish Squash goes best with the fabric. I know some like it full strength but in person you may think differently. Especially in the areas that don't get direct sunlight and in the evening- it's a bit too vibrant/orangey.

The foundation added on is 7' out along the back of the house (29') and is a crawl space. The existing basement is full. It took about a week and a half- maybe a bit more with 2 inspections.

CEFreeman- Yes, It's so hard. Even in those pics each one looks totally different!

I'd say the 1st, 2nd, 5th, & 6th photos of the cabs are the closest representations...

michelle- Ha! Yes, I love them. There's an Anthropologie less than a mile from me so I picked them up in person : )

How exciting to start into the nitty gritty of it all! Both yellows are so pretty. You can't go wrong as either sill be so pretty with your other choices. My slight preference is SS. Go with your gut. Looking forward to a fresh yellow kitchen reveal this fall!

As a complete aside, SS looks an awful lot like BM Soleil I mentioned before. I know you've settled on these two lovely yellows, but for someone over in Home Dec to call Soleil a creamy off-white especially indoors keeps bugging me. It is yellow for me both outdoors on my house and indoors on my sample board. I wouldn't have suggested it if it weren't. I guess it goes to show that the light where one lives makes colors look different than they do for other people. Anyway, my little beef is off my chest. :) Moving on....

I had liked Sundress before because the "full-strength" Squish-Squash was just a bit orangey for my tastes, but now my eye keeps moving to the SS 75%. It is richer--more buttery than Sundress, but without the oranginess. At least on my monitor.

Now please share where you found those adorable jars with the chalk labels! I think I must have them! :)

I love all of the decorating ideas. I never quite pull off the little items that you and lavender do so well!
Deedles - I have 30 shades of griege in the basement as I kept tweaking to get the perfect color for the outside of the house! The paint stores kept saying it looks like a match but it was missing something. They finally got it right - so fishies- do check the paint to be sure it has the right color and depth and stay with it until right!

breezy- Thanks! I think it's so difficult to compare colors by what you see here on your monitor. I have Soleil and it is nothing like Squish Squash or Sundress on MY cabinets in My space. In my very bright kitchen it looks almost beige and there's not nearly enough yellow in it. I know it's tricky! I've had so many people recommend some beautiful creamy yellows and in my kitchen they just aren't good- especially being it is just for the lowers and I want to see that contrast. Thanks so much for posting : )

It's hard for me to tell on my monitor. I think the lighter one would be nice. I think yellow is one of those colors that will magnify its intensity. Just like blue. A little goes a long way.

And if you really want some technical advice, if you truly can't decide, what name do you like better? I'd rather have Sundress vs 75%SquishSquash on my cabinets. But that's just a way to make a decision if both look good and you cannot decide. I think you will choose and then never even look back.

I decided long ago that since I (now) know so little about current wines, I'd start buying the cool labels.
If I could get them off the bottles, I'd keep them, but they don't even soak.

Lemme tell you that Red Truck cab (I have a red truck) is fantastic, as is the Giant Red Rooster. Being cheap-os, they don't hold overnight, though. Vivacious Viki is probably good for removing rust from the truck's bumper.

I like the Squish 100%, but that's on my monitor. It might look completely different in person. To me, it looks best with your fabric and more yellow...like your inspiration picture.

If they look 'yellow enough' in real life, choose whichever one makes you feel happy, as you walk into the room :)

I like Squish Squash at 75% best. Plus, it's fun to say.

In some of the pics I pick up a slight tinge of green in Sundress. Especially in the second and third pics of the two sample doors side by side.

Can you see green in it in different lighting? sunlight, incandescent, florescent? Especially in shade/shadow?

Anyway, I prefer the SS. At 100% it shows an orangish tinge that I don't pick up at 75%, but both are pretty. Guess it depends on how subtle you want the yellow.

Left! Sundress would be my pick so I could let my accessories (and your accessories are really beautiful) do the talking.

Bee - I picked the ceiling color in my cabin on the master bathroom ceiling purely based on the name - "Steam." I needed an off white for the bathroom and steam seemed like it made sense! Glad I'm not alone.

I don't have an opinion on your yellow because they both show up the same on my monitor.

Did you ever decide on the Ipe you mentioned in another thread? I just got it for my covered porch and I am not sure if I have tongue and groove (don't think so since I have spaces in between). The Ipe is so nice! I love it. However, it does show dirt easily because it is so darkly colored (foot prints, etc.). I would think you would want the boards spaced for draining so you could hose down the deck or for rain. Not really sure, but I just thought I would mention it.

I recently found out that a friend of mine buys her wine this way, too. I was so surprised, as I've yet to have a bad glass of wine at her house! Although I'm certainly no connoisseur :)

Bee and Christine- I like your method! I DO prefer the name Sundress, but I really do like Squish Squash (the color) more : ) Christine, those wines are too funny : )

lavender, the SS at 100% is very pretty but tends to get a bit obnoxious/orange in the evening and in certain lighting. However, it IS the right tone I was looking for so taking it down really helped and now it looks much better in the shaded areas.

bellsmom- yes- every now and then I see a bit of green. It's hardly detectable but I noticed it in the evening and in certain light. It certainly is not anywhere near as green as a lot of the yellows I explored but next to squish squash it does have that tendency. SS is a bit warmer. (it has some orange in it)

dilly- yes, we are doing the Ipe and I'm glad to hear you like it : ) We are doing the tongue and groove. The deck will be covered but open on two sides so we can still hose it down : ) Do you oil yours?

I prefer the Squish Squash fairly consistently across all the photos, but not by a wide margin, and I think that either one would look great.

Like Bellsmom, I pick up a bit of green in the Sundress (compared to the Squish Squash) in some of the photos.

Wow. Congrats. Now we get to see this happen. I didn't toss in my -2 cents before because I really don't trust colors on the monitor, but I don't think there's any danger of hurting you at this point, so: Squish Squash has always looked good, 75% better. :)

i think sundress reads a little green/cooler on my monitor and squish squash more orangey/warm. so it depends on which tone you are going for. either will look nice though. i am eagerly awaiting the unveiling of your kitchen!

Wow! You are moving. Our houses are quite similiar. I did oil my Ipe and I love it. I did Ipe on the top rails as well and I like the contrast with the white spindals.

My lack of grass causes footprints on the dark Ipe, but once we plant grass in the fall, hopefully that will no longer be a problem.

dilly, are your white spindles vinyl or wood?

Hmmm.. I think they are a composite material like the columns (neither wood nor vinyl). I tried to do no maintenance materials. I think they were a new product when we got them because my GC didn't think they were available at first.

I hope the demo reveals no problems and things start happening exponentially fast. And I hope you post updates along the way.

An observation about color: I looked again at your cab door pics and noticed how blue the white ground in the print fabric looks in some. If the color is that far off on white, we really need to be cautious about evaluating color.
