The other option is to just get over it. :) A kitchen is a workroom. Most people prefer to choose best in class from many different manufacturers to ensure their work room works efficiently. No manufacture makes best in class in each category, so if you choose the best functioning DW, you will probably end up with a different brand range and a different brand fridge anyway. As long as everything IS stainless, it's fine. And, there are plenty of people who even mix stainless and non stainless successfully. Anyone who comes in your home and turns their nose up at coordinating stainless appliances that do not necessarily match needs to be thrown out of your home.

I have the Ruvati single bowl sink. Pros: It's big and holds a lot of dishes. It's sturdy and insulated well enough for me. I like the ledge for accessories. Cons: It has a flat bottom, so I chase food around the sink with the sprayer trying to get food particles down the drain. It has tight corners and hard to clean. The colander has wood, so I'm not sure how long that will last and it has large holes and is open on each end. That prevents you from using it for anything small, like straining spaghetti. I suppose you could use it for larger cut vegetables. I personally have it on the ledge and use it to set my liquid soap bottle, scrubbies and to hang my dishcloth to dry on the edge. I sometimes rinse my flatware and place in there prior to loading the dishwasher. I bought an after market, fine mesh colander that expands to fit the ledge and I store it in my cabinets. The grid for the bottom of the sink I thought was a good idea when I bought the sink. I hate it. The space between grids is too large to prevent anything from falling through. It gets food gunk on it, so I would be constantly scrubbing it and have to take it out to clean the sink. I don't use it anymore. If I could have a do-over, I would not purchase it again. You spend a lot of time at the sink, so allow enough in your budget to get a sink that will make using it less of a chore.

You mean the Ruvati Roma sink RVH8350? The RVC model is a bundle of the same sink with a Ruvati faucet. Yes, Ruvati sinks are exceptional quality. I have been using a Ruvati Gravena sink for almost 3 years now. Solid sink: very heavy and thick. I don't have the Roma model with ledges for accessories, but for $469 thats a great deal for a 16 gauge sink with built-in cutting board and colander. Quality-wise Ruvati sinks are just as good as any major stainless steel sink brand like Kohler or Elkay.

MOST of the stainless sinks I see people getting, on these forums, are the newer "brushed" finishes, and those sinks really don't even have a shine. You'd really have to work at it to get Comet or Ajax to dull those finishes, but I suppose it could be done. I have had a smooth-finish stainless sink for many many years, and occasionally did resort to Comet for a good cleaning. I never had any dulling or scratching, ever. I switched to BKF liquid a few years ago just because it's more convenient. I just replaced my old sink with a new SS one, again, a smooth polished finish - not the brushed. I will be using the same cleaner as I have in the past. As far as water spots - jeeez. I can't believe anyone would be concerned with water spots in a sink. Oy!!
