Is that normal though to have the different varieties grow at such a different rate? Perfectly normal in my experience and different growth rates and patterns for different varieties has often been discussed here - that you can't fairly compare varieties when it comes to growth patterns as seedlings. Different varieties have different genes = different growth rates so cut them (and yourself) some slack, ok. ;) But that doesn't mean they are somehow more persnikity, less viable, less productive, or stunted. EX: Redhouse Freestanding looks like a pro football player from day one while Opalka always starts out wispy and kind of 98 pound weakling looking but you'd never know that by mid-season when it has left Redhouse in the dust. Just let them do their thing and all else being equal, it will all come out right in the end. Dave

You might get a swag fixture with plenty of chain, and fix a hook where you want it. That way, when you decide to put the table somewhere else (or the next owner of the house does), the light is easily moved again.

We were thinking about 25k and it will be closer to 40k. But the excess went not on fun things (note the old appliances) but on asbestos removal, heating, electrical, etc. The cabinets themselves we less than 9k, the countertop installed with sink about $3400. So this is really a budget kitchen, but required a lot of labor. laurie - The faucet is Elkay Victorian, the sink a single bowl 10" deep Suneli. I didn't really choose the sink, the soapstone guy seems to have provided it for free? My GC showed me the bill and there is no mention of a sink. I'm ashamed to say I didn't know what was going on here! Maria - it sounds like what you have is similar to what I used to have, but much of the heat from my radiator was trapped in the corner. My heating guy spent an entire day making this: and one of the carpenters made this There should be lots of heat coming from the bathroom (behind kitchen), so I hope this will be OK. Has anyone ever seen such a thing? We were looking at a european-style flat panel radiator but it was hard to find one for this space and they are very expensive.

sheesharee, I do have pics of my dining room, and my stairs to still post in your thread! Our DirectTV guy JUST Came out yesterday and fixed our internet. This is the 4th or 5th time they have come out in 2 months...(Besides the fact that i know WHAT's wrong b/c i work in the computer industry with networking)...they just don't listen. So now it's working! So i'll post pics tonight for sure...also one maybe tomorrow of the large chandelier in real life. Finished cleaning and putting the small one back together last night. Now on to the big one tonight! and I DID talk my bf into letting me keep them! I even talking him into MAYBE trying the large one in the DR because i told him the crystal would look nice with the small amount of crystal I have in the china cabinet so far. But at least I get to keep him. All I had to do was say: Well what happens if in 5 years I ask you to buy me a crystal chandelier because I want some sparkle..will you buy me a new huge one? oh yeah , that'll be about $1000. He said keep them! So I think the small one is going in the powder room off the kitchen, and the large one either in the DR or back to it's old location. Not sure which place will be best. Our LR and foyer, which looks into the DR both have brushed nickel (as does DR currently) and glass fixtures. Currently in the DR I have a bowl pendant that matches the fixture in the LR. I have another chandelier that matches the LR one just larger, 2 tier that I was planning on putting in the upstairs hall where the chandelier used to live. Should I put the crystal one in the DR or upstairs hall? When you drive up our driveway there's a balcony/french door so you can see the crystal chandelier from the long driveway...it's actually why I loved it so much in the first place. But the nickel one is equally pretty...has italian glass (looks like a frosted crackled glass finish) but in a more contemporary way.
