AJ Madison seems to have them (not sure if it's your exact model). They are awesome to deal with and have good prices. I'm pretty sure they would price match if there was a difference. We bought a bunch of appliances from them.

It does look like they have them, but i called earlier and they said they don't have them in stock...they would have order it from Blanco. That seems to be the trouble I'm running into.

Popmom, that's terrible. I'm about to order one in another color. I didn't know there could be shortages. I hope you are able to find yours....if truly desperate, can you get one off the shelf (more $) at a specialty store in your town?

FWIW my black silgranit cascade, which is like the super single but with a ledge on the side, came with no cracks. Sounds like they're at the end of a run -- I sure hope the carcked sinks you got weren't former returns?!

Do you think you could call AJ Madison, explain your history and ask whether they'd be willing to physically *inspect* the thing before sending??

Honestly, at this point price is not coming into play that much...the stress this is causing is worth not worth whatever i might save. I literally spent hours today calling every plumbing supplier and kitchen store that deals with the blanco sinks within a 60 mile radius. But i guess most in my area don't keep much inventory because there are so many styles and color choices. They did say that the cafe brown is a popular color, but not one that they may stock. They usually stay with white or maybe black. Now that I 've seen the brown in my kitchen, I really want to stay with that color.

Well, I'll say this for you, you are a huge siligranit fan to hang in there after all of this! It is stressing me out just to HEAR these stories. lol

While you apparently have nerves of steel, I'll probably end up going stainless steel... *is a chicken*

So sorry to hear! Way to hang in there. The cracking happens occasionally, but isn't worth giving up on a great sink. That reminds me that I should order my silgranits now.

I recommend ordering from another store. Chances are that a third sink from a different store will not arrive cracked. Homeperfect is reputable. Take a deep breath, have a glass of wine, and call Homeperfect in the morning. Confirm they have one to ship now and order.

If the third arrives cracked, buy a lottery ticket. :)

aliris - i actually did talk to someone at AJ Madison and they said they would have to order it. That would mean mid August and then whatever time to ship to me. Quality bath or home and stone both would also order it, but I am trying to find it in stock somewhere. I just want to make sure it would be someone reputable in case I have another issue...I'm a little nervous now. The damaged sinks were quite different. The first one was cracked on the bottom...it actually looked like a forging or manufactring defect. The second one came with a hairline crack along the rim and going down the corner on the inside.

I actually talked to DH last night and asked if we should consider a SS sink instead ( but remember my granite has been cut for this sink) but we both agreed that we really like the looks of this one...cracks and all! Soooo I think we are going to continue our search. We leave for vacation next week and I think I'm going to try to focus on that and maybe the time and distance wil give me some fresh perspective. I realize that I won't be able to have one delivered before we go, and it looks like I won't be able to find one locally, so we'll just have to finish things when we get back.

And I did mix up a batch of Sangria last night...it's like 1000 degrees here so who wants to cook in a kitchen anyway!! :-)

Sounds like you have a good plan. You won't remember all the hassle and delay in a few months when you're enjoying your new kitchen!

FWIW I got a silgranit sink from homeperfect and it came, well...perfect. I would call around and stick to what you liked from the beginning. I like aliris's idea of trying to get someone to inspect before shipping. Good luck!

I did call Homeperfect this morning and they have one...just one in stock. I told about my experience and they explained how they have had occasional issues, but they use a spray foam that pads the inside of the sink during transport and that seems to help. Unfortunately, it is iffy that the sink would get here before we leave, so I'll probably still have to wait until after. He did say that they already have an order with Blanco for some sinks and they are due any time so I'm going to call on Monday to see if any have arrived.

Did you get your sink yet?

It actually is supposed to come today...I just checked tracking info and it looks like it is on the truck for delivery...fingers crossed that it is crack free!!

We ordered our Blanco through HD. It's in our vacation home, that I only see a couple weekends a month. I have to admit, we didn't "inspect" it very well at all, after reading how some take a flashlight to it. No issues so far (6 weeks into it), but posts like this are scary. We LOVE the look though! It's undermounted in our granite too.

I can totally relate to your stress over all of this, and agree that in a couple of months it will all seem worth it!

I'm surprised to hear how many of these Blanco sinks come cracked. Especially since they are supposed to be so durable when installed. I am worried now because we are getting a cafe brown sink delivered to our manufactured home builder who will install it. That means I don't get to inspect it and if it is installed with a crack, well I don't even want to think about that!! Ours will be coming from Lowes...has anyone had a problem with Blanco from them?

Sink came...happy dance...no cracks!! Granite being installed today so fingers crossed again for a great install. By the way,,,the third sink shipped from Quality bath and it was packed great...foam all around and inside the sink as well, so it does matter where it comes from. The first two sinks were ordered from Quality Bath too, but they did not have them on site and were able to locate it from somewhere else...but unfortunately they did not pack nearly as well, so you may want to confirm where it is coming from...QB is in New Jersey. The packing seems to be key. And FYI, Quality Bath and Home and Stone are sister companies...I didn't realize that before...they have been great to work with.
